How do I catch fish? Its impossable!
I can't catch any fish. I have the fishing rod and cast it into the river or sea when I see a black shadow (a fish). I wait untill the fish goes up to the bait and starts biting it. I then reel it in, but no fish.
This is driving me mad, I've been playing for over a week and have tried for hours to catch a fish!

Well, you wait until the bubble thingy floaty thingy goes underwater. Then, you reel it in. But you have to be fast. As soon as the fish pulls the floaty thing underwater, click A. (: Hope I helped.

I can't catch any fish everytime the bite the bober goes in the water and then they swimm off and this is all fishes I've had this game since 2008 and every time I try to fish I get this problem it's irritating and I can't find anything online of people having this trouble

You have to wait until it stops going back and forth and then when it pops underwater tap your person/press A as soon as you can and then a fish should come up.
I hate when I keep catching the same fish over again.

I found it hard when I tried too! When you cast your line into the ocean/pond/river, just wait for the fish too go up to the bait. While the fish is tapping your bait, DO NOT CLICK YOUR PLAYER OR THE A BUTTON!! Wait until the bait 'pops' (that's what it sounds like!) because that means the fish has bitten it and is trying to drag underwater. Quickly (you should have been ready) either tap your character or click the A Button to catch the fish. For a second or two (depending on the type of fish) it will stay in the water and the bait will be bobbing up and down fast, so don't be worried when that happens. If you are comfortable with it, you could do the same as what me and my sister do. When the fish has bitten the bait, keep on tapping the screen or pressing your A Button. I don't know why we do that we just naturally know we have caught the fish then! Hope this helps!
The faster the better, because you have a better chance of getting the fish!
Fast is also cool because of Sonic the Hedgehog. Just saying.

ok every time im on animal crossing city folk i go fishing ive catched fish befoire but now its like when the fish nibbles on the bobber the bobber sinks in the water then the fish swimmms away and disapears it does this almost everytime i tried to fish and if i do catch something its always the same small fish i already caught before its driving me so nuts i completely stopped fishing for like two or three yearws now i just got back on and it stil does the same dumb stuff please helpGuest answered:
Try to change your bait (more smell and oily) is better, if you are a smoker, try to wrap your hand with garlic past because the Fishes has strong smell, and check your hook sharpness, the sharper is better,

Best way I found: Use headphones, turn the volume up. You will hear a *plop* sound when the fish pulls the lure under, click as SOON as you hear the *plop*.

I did it correctly. I waited for the fish to pull it and that plop sound. When I tap THERES NO FISH!
