River View (New Town)
While you can't currently begin a new town from scratch, and the Edit Town tool is limited by patches of uneditable terrain (these areas are not assigned to lots, so therefore cannot be altered), EA have released a new town called River View.
Downloading it is not as simple as it perhaps should be.
First, go to www.thesims3.com
Click the Create an Account link and register your game. Note that you will need your game's serial number to do this (those who have downloaded the game should have River View already).
You should then be given Sim Points to spend in the game's store, so head there using the navigational buttons on the website and download the River View map.

Yay, Now i got Riverview! And to those who say that this isnt easy, You Just goto TheSims3.com then go to the store and search for riverview then click download... It will open up the SIms 3 then download it.

Does anybody know a site with different towns to download?
Some corrections, first corrections is that Riverview is free. You only need to register your game and then update it to download. If you haven't updated your copy of The Sims 3 do this before downloading or else it won't work. Second, registering the game allows the download. If you don't have the game the download would damage your computer. This is answering a few questions asked by multiple users.the registration will prove that you have the game. This also allows you to download bonus content to the game.

Riverview is only for pc. Unfortunately, for those who bought a used game, check before buying and see if it has to be registered. If so, don't buy it because it is a total loss of money, I feel for you, I've been ripped of like that too. If bought at a store but lost the code, contact EA and see if they can help, be sure you have proof you bought the game.
On the towns, Sunset is prettier but I like Riverview due to the townies. The characters seem to be friendlier, more eligable bachors for those who want families.
You can move a family from Sunset, but I don't know how,it isn't easy but I read something about doing it on Carl's site for sim games. I use both sites, there and here for info

NO you can not get it for xbox but i got it on my computure and you guess wont like it its kind of gay like i got it and i have nothing agaisnt farms but it this is a farm town and its completly dumb but a outfit comes with the town its overalls

hahaha, i already dowload this town long ago, and i reformat my laptop and puff, its gone... how stupidy i am. long ago, i didnt need to fill up this stuff, i mean the game code... to make our life easier, find a people who already download it, and asks him or her to upload it via sharing site..

you cant use other peoples serial code! the code is for your game and once youve lost it you cant use anyone elses. And even if you could it wouldnt be fair.
you have to have the game in a box. it comes with a leaflet that has the code on it. There is NO OTHER WAY. Riverview is an incentive for players to buy the game. and if you lose the code, sucks for you. no other way. sorry. :(

to get the Riverview town into ur game all u have 2 do is put the thing in ur Downloads witch is in Users>yourname>my documents>EA games> Sims 3>downloads
then load the launcher and click install custom content then u can use it
