The Summit of Sacrifice
BOSS BATTLE: Zeus
You're in for one epic battle. Following the cutscene, Zeus becomes giant, towering over the arena. Zeus' attacks during this phase are very damaging. His thunderbolts, particularly, are something you're going to want to look out for. These thunderbolts cannot be blocked, so either roll or jump out of the way to avoid them. Zeus can also cause a tremor by hitting the arena, knocking Kratos around and dealing some serious damage. To avoid taking damage from this attack, double jump into the air and glide until Zeus finishes the attack. Get ready to do this when Zeus raises his arms and puts both of his hands together.

Zeus begins the battle by summoning three Sirens. The best ability during this part of the battle is Atlas Quake. You should have this magic upgraded to at least level two if you really want this to be effective. Use Atlas Quake to damage the Sirens around you. When a Circle appears over a Siren's head, approach this Siren and press the Circle button to kill her. It is important that you kill her this way as it is the only way to damage Zeus. You will also receive a number of Blue Orbs, allowing you to continuously use Atlas Quake throughout this part of the battle. The Siren's death scream causes Zeus to falter; he then proceeds to pound his fist down. Run to Zeus' fist and start attacking with either the Blade of Olympus or by using Atlas Quake. Zeus will eventually retract his hand. Repeat this process until Zeus reverts to a more manageable size.

In this stage, Zeus' attacks are even more damaging. While Kratos is close, Zeus will use his fists to punch him. You can block the first part of this move, but once you have absorbed the second bunch, quickly get out of the way to avoid taking damage from the final strike. When Zeus raises his arm and begins to gather energy, get ready to deflect the lightning bolt he launches at you. Zeus launches two lightning bolts and they both move very fast. If you can manage to deflect the first bolt with Golden Fleece though, you won't have to worry about taking damage from the second and you'll damage Zeus in the process. When Zeus charges towards you, roll or jump out of the way to avoid taking damage.

If the Rage of the Titans meter is useable then by all means, use it right now! The only weapon you can use at this time is the Blade of Olympus, and with Rage of the Titans activated you can deal plenty of damage. Use Atlas Quake or Typhon's Bane to deal additional damage. Once you have dealt enough damage, Zeus releases a number of Green, Blue and Gold Orbs. Zeus then proceeds to wrestle the Blade of Olympus out of Kratos' hands. You are left with Athena's Blades at this point, but the Rage of the Titans meter should be completely full. Activate the Rage and wail on Zeus with Athena's Blades.

Once you have dealt enough damage to Zeus, a Circle appears over his head. Run towards him and press the Circle button. Rapidly press the Circle button to wrestle the Blade of Olympus out of Zeus' hands. Kratos will then proceed to launch Zeus into one of the pillars surrounding the arena. Run towards the pillar and press the R1 button near the shine to topple the pillar over onto the stunned Zeus. After doing so, he releases more Orbs, restoring the Rage of the Titans meter. Afterwards, he snatches the Blade of Olympus from Kratos again.

Activate Rage of the Titans and attack him until the Circle appears above his head. Press Circle and wrestle the Blade of Olympus away from Zeus once more. Kratos then throws him into another pillar. Run towards the pillars, press R1 near the shine and Kratos will topple the pillar onto the stunned Zeus. Afterwards, Zeus turns giant again and fires a field of lightning down upon Kratos. Rapidly tap the Circle button to trigger a takedown sequence.

Press the buttons as they appear on screen to finish the battle. If you input a button incorrectly, Kratos is killed and you'll have to restart the sequence.

After the cutscene, make your way to Clotho's Platform. Approach the thread of time to the right of the lever in the middle of the platform and press the R1 button to take hold of it. Tap the Circle button to change the time displayed in the mirror above. Once the mirror has been set to the correct moment, a timer appears in the top-right corner of the screen.

You have thirty seconds to make it to the mirror. Immediately use the Amulet of the Fates to freeze time and run through one of the doorways. As you pull the lever, time reverts to normal, but at least you were able to save yourself a bit of time. Make your way through the corridor and back to the mirror. Jump through the mirror when you reach it.

That's it, you've completed God of War II! Sit back and enjoy the ending, you've earned it!
