For an answer to question one, I think that it is actually easier to get Hero chaos. Getting a dark chao does take a while longer, but it does look cooler, and does better I think. Could be wrong, but getting a Dark chao definitely takes longer.



For an answer to question two, You do not have to worry about a thing. It is completely natural, and normal for your chao to turn colours after being petted by a certain character for a while. All that means is that he is starting to turn to the dark side. If you bet a chao with a good character like Sonic, then that chao will eventually become a good chao. You see, it's okay.

For an answer to question three, I know of a few more hats that you can get for your chao. You can get a big, yellow, pot, A pumpkin head, a paper bag, and many many others. I know that you can get Knuckles, or Rouge and dig up a Pumpkin in any of the Chao gardens, but as for all the other hats...you have to buy them.

1. It's equaly same if your chao starts to turn a white / pale kinda looking color with green or blue kinda looking tips then your going to have a hero chao and the way to make it that color is the care for it and pet it with hero characters and for dark chao they will start to turn a black / brown or dark purple or dark green kinda looking color with red / purple looking tips and to make them like that just care for them and pet them with dark characters you can even make neutral chao they have a variaty of color they are my favorite just keep petting them back and fourth with the dark and hero characters so you keep them the color blue and if they start to change color it's ok that just means it's working as long as the color isn't to light or too dark

2.like I explained before it's just changing it's color to become a dark chao and if you keep carring for it and petting it with dark characters like shadow or rouge or dr. Eggman then it will (when it's strong enough) go into a cocoon and transform into a dark chao

3.well I don't quite know them all but i'll tell you all that I know ok here goes. Well you already have the apple then there is the skull witch you get at the dark garden by digging with rouge or knuckles and then theres the pumpkin where you get from digging in the hero or neutral garden (thats the one you start with) with knuckles or rouge. And you can buy pots of different color, beenie hats(they are like ski masks with a little fuzzy ball on the top) of all different colors, a grocery bag, a tree stump, a moving box all at the chao blackmarket/store and thats about all I know
