Xbox 360 HDMI Audio Adapter

Depending on your sound system or headset you'll need to correct audio cable or adapter

Male RCA Audio Ports/ Connectors

If your headset has a male RCA connector, you just need to connect it directly to the Xbox 360 HDMI Audio Adapter.

Some headsets have cables with both male and female connectors such as the image below:

Female RCA Audio Ports/ Connectors

if your headset has a female audio port, you'll need a male audio cable to connect your headset/sound system to the Xbox 360 HDMI Audio Adapter cable. By standard, all audio ports are the back of sound systems are female.

Some headsets have cables with both male and female connectors such as the image below:

3.5mm Audio Connector

3.5mm connector/ ports is the standard and widely used on majority of devices today. Most headsets will also have this connector. To connect this to your Xbox 360 HDMI Audio adapter cable, you have to get a 3.5mm to RCA adapter.

You have to connect your headset's 3.55 jack to the black part of the cable above and then connect the red and white jacks to the corresponding color of the HDMI audio adapter

Optical

Optical allows digital audio signals to be transferred between your console and your headset or sound system. Some headsets allow you to use an optical cable while most sound systems have a port where you can connect them. Simply connect the optical cable from your headset or sound system from the HDMI audio adapter to complete your setup.
