New World Crafting Tricks

Crafting and gathering are a big part of your routine in New World and this is made clear to you early in the game. Whenever you take on the different quests and missions, you must be continually collecting the resources found everywhere in the game world. This is literally everything you see and includes things such as rocks, plants, flowers, iron and gold, as well as items gained from animals and left behind by the enemies you defeat. All these resources can be used in some way in a recipe to craft essential things like armor, weapons, and potions. This New World Crafting Tricks guide will help you to craft easier in New World.

To craft in New World you need to visit a Crafting Station, there you will be presented with a number of types of items. Items that are in white indicates you have the materials and skill to craft one or more of its tiers. Items in red indicate you are missing one or more ingredients from the recipe, which means you will be unable to craft it until they have been obtained. You can click the item to find out what it is you are specifically missing.

When you select an item type, you will be able to see the different tiers of the item that the station you have visited can craft. You will also be able to view the recipe for the item and the rarity of each of the ingredients you need to use. If the item is equippable you can switch to the Craftsmanship view to see the resulting item's stats. If you lack any of the materials needed to craft any given recipe, you can choose to pin that ingredient from the recipe to the HUD as an Objective. Doing this will keep it visible as you play, so you can easily keep track of what you need to find. If you need to process a raw material into a refined material, so it is granted the property you require in the recipe, you will need to visit a Refining Station. There may be instances where you will need to work with other players or use a Trading Post to obtain things you can't supply yourself.

Take a look at our How to Increase Inventory Space guide if you need to expand the amount of space you have available in your inventory for the items you gather.
