Get up to speed in Lethal Company with this collection of tips suitable for anyone starting out in the game.
Lethal Company is a co-op indie horror game where you are tasked with collecting scrap from abandoned, industrialized moons to meet the Company's profit quota. We have several Beginner Tips for Lethal Company that will help you to progress in this game that blends exploration, survival horror, and strategy, in a retrofuturistic post-apocalyptic dystopia.
To prevent attracting unwanted attention from monsters you need to make as little noise as possible. Avoid running in corridors, only use the walkie-talkie when you need to, turn it off otherwise. And remember that your flashlight will make a clicking sound when turning it on and off.
When you are on the moon one of the biggest threats you will need to deal with are Eyeless Dogs. These creatures are unable to see but are attracted by sound, this includes transmitted walkie-talkie messages and voice comms. Eyeless Dogs can become a problem when you need to make a safe extraction and they begin to gather around the ship. The solution to this problem is to purchase the Loud Horn and Boomboxes to use as a distraction while everyone boards the ship.
The Loud Horn is an upgrade that can be purchased for 150 credits at the Terminal Shop and equipped for your ship. This item is particularly useful to signal your position when you are on the ship and your teammates are lost somewhere in the wild.
The Boombox can be purchased from the Terminal Shop for 60 credits, it is one-use item that lets you hit the dancefloor with your teammates.
In order to avoid picking up penalties that will be deducted from the crew's Credits it is essential that you retrieve the dead bodies of teammates that were attacked while out exploring. It is important that you do this because if you pick up large penalties the team will not have the funds to get gear for future expeditions. Obviously, if a teammate gets eaten by a monster or falls into a void you will not be able to retrieve the body.
In Lethal Company your stamina level is measured by a curved orange bar located in the top-left of your screen. When you sprint and swim this bar will decrease, the speed of which is determined by how much weight you are carrying. The amount of weight you are carrying is displayed in lbs beneath the stamina bar. Make sure you don't let your stamina deplete entirely as this will make it slower to recover. There will be instances when you are being chased by an enemy where dumping whatever you are carrying will significantly increase your chances of escaping.
Make sure you bring the right equipment with you when exploring as doing so will help make your progression easier. An essential piece of equipment you should upgrade as soon as you get the opportunity so that it has a significantly higher range is the Pro-flashlight. Don't forget to pack Stun Grenades, these are particularly helpful when you need to gain distance against threats that you cannot kill. Other must-have items are the Shovel and the TZP-Inhalant.
Enemy spawns in Lethal Company are mainly time-based, they become more aggressive as the time of day passes. It is therefore important that you keep track of time because once you get to the end of the day and daylight starts to fade the most dangerous enemies will begin to spawn.
Keep an eye out for Beehives when you are exploring as they are worth around 100 credits if you can steal one. Beehives are typically found on the ground and will be swarming with bees. The easiest way to steal a beehive is with another teammate. One player must act as bait for the bees, while the other grabs the beehive and runs. This can be dangerous, if you get the timing wrong there is always the possibility one of you will die. Don't attempt to do this alone as it is impossible to outrun the bees.
Make sure whenever you use your Scanner whenever it is off cooldown. It is important that you do this as it will notify you about nearby creatures and add their info to the bestiary. This will come in useful if you encounter them later in the game.
The Ghost Girl and the Jester are two of the most lethal enemies in the game. They tend to spawn on Tier-3 moons and once you start seeing them you will have a limited amount of time before before they spawn and kill everyone. It is therefore recommended that as soon as you spot either of them you gather your scrap and escape as quickly as possible.
