Chapter 8-4: The Goblin Caves

Kill the goblins and then check the left side for a wall to break for some relics. Continue on and kill the enemies until you see a scene. There's an entire city down here! Pretty neat (kind-of reminds us of that cave city from Assassin's Creed).

Beat up the explosive goblin then break down the wall for relics. To the right be sure to jump over the steam. You'll see a quick scene and will have to fight an orc (dodge then attack). Past him is two melee goblins and another orc (use a Shockwave here if you wish). Head right and jump down. Kill the melee unit you run across then get ready to fight two boomerang goblins. The door will open once you kill them.

To the right is more steam. The first two vents turn on and off so just get past them when they are off. Destroy the wall past the second one for some relics. Now jump over the third one and finally note the fourth one you must jump over as well and the top vents turn on and off. Surely all that video gaming you've done will let you time this, right? Beyond the vent is an archer and two melee goblins. Kill the archer and mop up the rest.

Keep going and fight a grenade launcher orc and a hammer orc. Take out the launcher first if you can but be careful. Grab the relics and watch Knack jump the gap. Here you will fight two boomerang goblins and an explosive goblin up above them. Take him out first to make things easy. Mop up and note that up where the explosive goblin was you can break the wall for relics. Up ahead is a shield / club goblin. Punching the shield is no good so wait until after he swings three times and smack him one. After that break down the wall to the north for:

HIDDEN CHEST #36:

After fighting the first enemy with a shield and club, go break down the northern wall to find this hidden room / chest.

Head up the stairs and into the next battle arena. Here you will face two whip orcs and melee goblins. A shockwave is nice here but not necessary. After them are two more goblins and another shield orc. Focus on the goblins first so you can take out the shield orc last. Head forward for a short scene.

You'll be in a tunnel now. Jump the pillar that comes down and punch the goblin that did it. Next up is two explosive goblins (one after the other). Kill one then get ready to jump a pillar before beating up the next one. Head to the next area and take out the club orc and archer (archer first unless you are comfortable dodging the incoming shots). Break the northern wall for some relics and continue right past the two steam traps (watch the timing of both) to a scene.

Head to the right behind the boxes as soon as you get control. Seems they have a gattling gun! Ha! Beat up the melee units that come and wait for the gun to stop before going behind the left boxes. When it stops again, run behind it and smash it.

Note: The gattling gun can't turn 360 degrees, so you are safe when you are behind it. Also, the goblin will jump out and attack you if you don't smash it quickly enough.

Head forward and jump over the lava pits. You'll come to a big room with another gattling gun. Wait at the back and let the melee guy and club guy come to you so you can kill them. Now make your way from box to box until you can get behind the gun and smash it.

Head north and smash the wall for some relics, then go right and kill the archer and explosive goblin. Step on the scale to open the doors. In here hang near the back and kill the two club orcs, then go wait behind the boxes and destroy the gun when you can. Don't forget the relics to the right. Now continue on to see a scene and enter a battle arena.

This area will have orcs and chunks of rocks falling down. Defeat the first orc (a club orc without a shield - wait for the third attack) and down will drop two warhammer orcs. After them is another club orc, a regular melee goblin and a shield orc (save him for last).

After them you will see a scene: the guardian will come out to play. He is *extremely* strong. He has a one-two punch ending with his long spire hand thing so be sure to get away after his first punch. His other move involves him jumping and trying to smash you. The game will give you a warning on this move to dodge, and it is also the best move to counter to actually hurt this monster. Note that after you hit him he'll put up a shield and repel you away from him (it doesn't hurt you), so you'll have to wait for more chances to hit him again. He'll drop around four hits. Head to the northeast corner to have Knack jump out of the arena.

Head north to fight another guardian (ugh, already!?) and then collect the relics he was guarding. Continue to the right and kill the orcs you find (they seem so easy after the guardians) and break the weak wall you see up ahead for some more relics. Carry on and drop down, then beat up the goblins and shield orc to open the way forward and ride the lift.

Follow the path up and destroy the drill for some relics. Jump past it and knock out the explosive goblin first, then the whip one and finish off with the shield one. Drop down and destroy the drill, then head north to finally go outside.

Out here you'll need to battle a guardian. Save your super move if you have one and slug it out with him. After him is a second guardian. This is the one you want to use a super move on (Shockwave). After that drop down and beat up the drill, the head forward for a scene.

What a waste of relics...
