Chapter 3-2: Abominable Knack

Hehe, we have ice now! Note the secondary life bar to the right of our normal one. We can now pick up stacks of icicles to fill that bar up!

Head left down the slope and get the ice in the hallway, then keep going and break the obvious wall you see to the north. Beat up the goblins you find and head out onto the ice bridge (take it slow as falling means your death!).

Past that you'll find a new type of goblin: the double-blade goblin. His sword has two blades on it. He attacks much like the sword goblin but can also plunge it into the earth for an area of effect attack (get out of its range or air attack him when he does this). Take them out and continue up the rocks.

Ride the slide you come to and gather up the ice at the bottom. Next is a sword goblin and an archer. Take out the archer then the sword goblin and keep going. You'll come to an open area with ice, but stick to the upper left wall and you'll be OK. Destroy the orc and explosive goblin after that and then break the northern (again - obvious) wall for a....

HIDDEN CHEST #9:

After defeating the first orc in this area (the one fighting with the explosive goblin) break the northern wall to find this chest.

Head up and through the gate. Destroy the goblins you meet (if you are big one hit should do it) and once they are dead head over to where the archer was and Knack will jump down automatically.

To the left is a breakable wall with more ice (leave all the ice down here if you don't need it). Head up and a goblin will roll a giant snowball down at you. Stick to the right and kill him. Repeat that for the next snowball as well then slide down to an archer and orc. Be careful here and get out of the northwest corner quickly then take them down. Keep heading up and watch the small scene, then head up some more. You will find some more blade and archer goblins at the top (we used a Blast here) to kill. Take them out and continue up the ledges, killing the explosive goblin at the end.

Head past the ice bridge now (if falls, so jump past) and there will be a new enemy here: the grenade gun orc. This orc fires grenades three at a time with *two* volleys of three (so for the math deficient, that is six grenades in a row before reloading). It is best to wait until he reloads to take him out due to the explosions and the fact that he'll fire close to himself (with no problem!) if you attack too soon.

Kill him and then break the wall to the north nearby for...

HIDDEN CHEST #10:

After defeating the first grenade orc in the game, go find the breakable wall behind him to uncover the path to this chest.

Nice. Head back up and past the small bridge to the left and kill the goblins you find (archer first). Head past the gate and up to another set of goblins. Here an orc and double sword goblin will come to you if you stay far away, so let them come and kill them, the go after the explosive goblin (who can't throw that far...). Head to the gate to see a scene.

Gauntlet time! Four enemies here. Try and destroy the archer first but be very careful of the orc. Wipe up the rest of the enemies and another group of four goblins will drop. This is a good time for a Storm attack if you wish, but with that knowledge ahead of time you can easily kill off two of them as soon as they drop down. Once the second wave is dead wave three will drop down, which is two more club orcs. Take them out carefully and use a power if you have to.

Head up the steps afterward and kill the blade and archer goblin. Further in is another archer with an ice bridge after that and another group of enemies. Look to the northwest wall after the group fight for a breakable wall with some sunstone in it and continue. You'll see a scene soon enough.

Now, this next section has us battling our way through hordes of goblins to arrive at three separate and distinct switches: all to open a giant gate.

This section has us leaving the cave to go out into the sunlight, which will over time shrink away Knack's ice armor and size (boo!). You will see a timer whenever you get into the sun and will notice the shrinkage. Let's split this up into three paths:

Note: You will restart in the cave every time you open part of the gate. You can also use the ice nearby to bulk up to max size.

LEFT PATH:

Head outside and kill the double blade goblin. Now immediately hang a left (ignore the archer) and head up the stairs (there is nothing to the right of the stairs). Up here kill the orc, archer and blade goblin, then continue heading up. Kill the two goblins here and destroy the wall to the north to find some good sunstone.

Head up the next set of stairs and you'll face the "Guardian": a heavily armored giant orc. His club swing is huge but he acts similar to other sword and club orcs: two swings then get in and punch him ASAP after the second swing (Note that a dash attack in after you can clear the second club swing helps out a ton!). He is resistant to attacks after that thanks to his shield, which also helps protect him from air attacks. We recommend a Shockwave attack here.

Hit the switch afterward.

CENTER PATH:

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This path is short. Head out and kill that pesky central archer then into the next area and wipe out the orc and goblins. Check to the right for a breakable wall with good sunstone, then up into the arena with a Guardian Orc and his two double bladed pals. Again, a Shockwave attack here helps a ton.

Hit the switch after the guardian is down. One more!

RIGHT PATH:

Head out and hang a right over the bridge. Take out the goblins here and the gate will open. Start hopping up the ledges but break the northeast wall on your way up to find some good sunstone. Head over the bridge to a grenade launcher orc and wait for him to blow his load before taking him out (I should really use better words). The Guardian is past that, and it is one on one this time. Use a Shockwave if you can (and are at big size). Once he is taken care of you can hit the switch.

Once the last switch is hit, a scene will play here, ending this part of the chapter and starting the next.
