In Just Cause 3, the protagonist Rico Rodriguez leaves the Agency and returns to his homeland to overthrow a brutal dictator named General Di Ravello. The beautiful fictional Mediterranean island of Medici is home to a unique mineral which can be processed to a powerful explosive or limitless power source which is basically in the wrong hands as long as Di Ravello is in power. The game takes place several years after the events of Just Cause 2
