Rank 1 to 50 Missions

Before we get too far into the Missions it should be noted that the Missions in GTA: online are NOT the story mode of the online side of the game - though it seems a lot of players were expecting that to be the case!

No, what they are in essence is various challenge scenarios in which the player pits their skills and those of their mates on one team to achieve a specific goal, while another team is charged with seeking the opposite conclusion to the effort.

The Missions are not really difficulty based though they do unlock at specific key Rank Levels, so you may be better off thinking of these (and a lot of the other Jobs in the game) as the vegetables in contrast to the various character-driven story missions that serve as the meat (because surely you know you should be eating three times as much vegetables as meat, right?).

OK all kidding aside, the biggest difference between these Missions and the LTS type is that in the standard Mission format everyone who participates will be earning RP and other rewards - in theory - by completing them.

Just like the LTS version, these span a wide variety of goals and locations, and require at least a minimal coordination of effort for the members of each team -- so spending a few moments working out duties for each member of your crew (assuming you are playing these as crew Events) can make all the difference in the world.

We have noticed though that when doing these as pickup Events, with a large group of people you don't know, they tend to be more of an out-for-yourself sort of experience in which pretty much everyone is looking out for their own interests and not really focused on cooperating. YMMV.

Hints and Tips: It is a very good idea to take out the bangers who stand between you and this repo before you actually grab it, then grab it and deliver it to the dealership.

Bring the full set to Paleto Cove and I'll pay handsomely.

Hints and Tips: This is pretty simple - head to the race, steal the ATVs and deliver them to the Cove.

Hints and Tips: Grab Ron's Plane and fly to Fort Zancudo where you will destroy the Lazers (fighters) and then Steal a Cargobob. Fly the Cargobob back to the Sandy Shores Airfield.

Hints and Tips: Head to the dealership in Davis and destroy the cars, then ditch the cops and return to Sim to receive your reward.

Hints and Tips: Head over to the parking lot and destroy the cars, before you get in the Banshee and flee. You will need to lose the Cops before you can deliver the Banshee to the dealership.

Hints and Tips: The repo on this one gets dicey because as soon as you grab the car you get a two-star wanted level! Just drive well, try to not damage it, and get it back to the dealership as quick as you can, right?

This is what happens when you try to help a community, giving credit to losers and wastrels, helping them to have a taste of American Dream and then repossessing it from under them. Hints and Tips: The easiest way to do this is to shoot the driver and grab the car - but then you will need to either kill or out-drive the bangers who react to that by chasing you. Once you eliminate or lose them, return it to the dealership.

Hints and Tips: Another assassination mission - head in take out who you need to then kill the target and get your proof, escape the cops, and deliver the proof.

The stickups keep getting bigger, dog. I got knowledge on a boat loaded with brown tar these Vagos eses brought up from Mexico, so much it sitting low in the water. If you can get from them at Chumash, and bring it to my people by the bridge at Lago Zancudo, I'll have some stacks for you. Look out though, they gonna have guards on land and sea.

Hints and Tips: Head over to the pier and take out the Vagos guarding it, then take out the ones who are defending the boat! Now just steal the boat and deliver it to the drop off point. Easy-peasey!

Hints and Tips: Hit the bordello, kill the guards and rescue Anna, then take her to Martie's house.

Few would argue that the worst two things to ever happen to the Senora Desert are meth and biker gangs. So, by taking out the Lost at their new meth lab, you'll be ding everyone a favor, including yourself. Put a couple of people on the hilltop to provide cover while others move in, then steal their RV's and drive them to the drop-off point.

Hints and Tips: This is not a mission you can do solo - so either get some crew members to join you or pick up some help by hosting the mission and inviting players from the server.

The focus for this mission is heavily oriented towards tactics - which means that if you employ the tactics that it was designed for, you will find it to be a very easy to manage mission. if you don't? Then not so much. So to begin with you want to deploy your snipers on the spot indicated on the map overlooking the trailer park, and have your best shooter(s) there to take out as many of the bikers as they can manage while you infiltrate the compound to steal the RV.

While the shooter location will remain pretty static if they do their job properly they will draw all of the attention -- and fire -- of the bikers below, which means that you will find it easier to infiltrate by heading down and around the right side of the compound, which allows you to make a clean approach to the target.

Area: Palomino Highlands

A crew has been running a successful Import-Export operation along the Palomino coastline, that is about to become a lot less successful with your help. Intercept their next shipment and deliver it to the drop-off location.

Hints and Tips: This is one of the Missions that you can easily handle solo if you want to -- but it was actually designed for a group of up to four cooperative players.

As you approach the package site you will notice a large box-style delivery truck around which are half-a-dozen guards. Just past them and down towards the beach there are some small fast-attack boats with some agents/guards, and there are additional guards and agents between the box-truck and the beach.

In theory you are not actually required to kill all of the enemy below but really, if you think about it, you more or less have to due to the fact that it is nearly impossible to outrun radio signals, so you cannot risk allowing the enemy to contact their mates elsewhere or at the drop point. So engaging and neutralizing the enemy here is on your list of things to do.

The goal is to intercept and hijack the "package" and then deliver it yourself to the designated destination. To do this, after you have neutralized the large number of guards and agents at the pickup location, return to the white Box-Truck and get in, then follow the path outlined on via GPS on the radar map.

As you proceed along the route you will notice markers for enemy Vehicles / enemies appear on the radar map. In theory you could ignore and try to drive past them, but in practice what you need to do is dismount, take a position in cover, and take out the operator and any passengers for an approaching enemy vehicle.

For stationary or patrolling targets who are not in Vehicles you will need to stop a reasonably safe distance away, dismount, and then hunt down and kill them. Whether you do that from a distance, sniping, or up close and personal via melee, they do need to be killed.

It is really important that you kill all of the dismounted enemy because they will try to take the truck away from you by flanking you while you are engaging other enemy units!

The most effective strategy for this mission is to clear all of the enemy units at the pick-up point, being sure to kill them all, and then take the box-truck to a point just before the first very long and wide switchback, and set up an ambush point there for the three or four enemy Vehicles that are coming up the road towards you.

Be sure to keep an eye out for flanking enemy troops because as noted, if they are able to get to the truck unchallenged they will take the truck and drive off in it! Once you have dealt with the patrols and dismounted enemies, get back in the truck and deliver it to the destination marked on your radar map.

Note that when you reach the destination and drive the truck onto the marker that will effectively end the mission, and you will then receive your reward. Note that the first time you complete any mission, the mission pay-out is roughly twice the amount that you will receive for each subsequent play-through, but the Missions are still an excellent way to boost money and RP - particularly for solo play.

Cops Capacity

OK, time to prove yourself. For reasons that don't concern you, I have an urgent need to thin out the police presence in Los Santos and I was thinking you could cause a diversion... Pay some police stations a visit, cause some chaos, lead the cops on a merry dance out of town. I'll have grenades and an armored car waiting for you at the factory. Yes, that kind of chaos.

Hints and Tips: Collect the supplies from the warehouse then destroy the cop cars, riot van, police bikes and the prison bus. Lose the Cops and your wanted level, then go to Lester's safe house.

Coveted

Area: Ron Alternates Wind Farm

Often the easiest way to make crime pay is to make your competitors pay for their mistakes. A rival crew has run a big shipment of product aground just east of the Wind Farm, and are bringing in a Cargo Bob to try to airlift it out of there. Sabotage the salvage operation and deliver the container to the drop-off.

Hints and Tips: This is probably the most often-played mission for the purposes of boosting RP and money in the game via Missions. The reason for this is that on Hard difficulty the reward amounts are pretty high, but perhaps more important, the mission can be completed in something like three to three-and-a-half minutes, which means that you can do a pretty fair number in a single hour!

The mission starts with your character on high-ground, and the idea is to engage the targets at the truck below from a distance, sniping them. You can do that, but it is a lot faster to run up on the dismounted enemy at the truck and take them out - that will also result in spawning the copter a bit faster.

When you reach the truck steal it and drive it to the next area just before a similar truck and dismounted enemy are located, and then position your truck so that you can dismount under cover of it, and then quickly take out the nearby enemy before you, the move forward and take out the enemy near the second truck over the hill.

At that point additional enemy will begin approaching from the direction you just came from but further up the hill -- engage and defeat them, and them which will be where you spawn the arrival of the enemy copter -- a Cargo Bob. Once it lands take out the enemy that dismount and then hijack the copter!

Fly the copter low and up the stream towards the landing beach with a container and two fast attack boats - there WILL be enemy there but you can ignore them and simply latch onto the container with the magnetic hook on your copter and, once you have it hooked up, fly towards the marker on the map.

You will fly through the wind farm and over the highway, allowing you to approach the drop zone and drop the cargo there. Dropping the container ends the mission, and you then receive the money and RP you earned, which should total $12,000 and around 1,750 RP (depending).

Once you get good at this you should very easily be able to complete it 14 or 15 times in an hour, which will provide a very decent amount of RP and money.

Crank Up the Volume

Hints and Tips: Head over to the coke factory and steal the coke, then deliver it to Trevor's trailer.

Crystal Clear Out II

The manufacture of meth is a dangerous business. A cook site can go up in smoke at any moment when you least expect it, as this rival gang in the Senora Desert is about to find out...

Hints and Tips: This one is a great farming mission for lower-level Characters, as it can be completed in under four minutes and pays a decent amount in terms of the reward.

As the mission starts grab the nearby car and drive it near the first group of enemy on the radar map, and using the car as cover, take them out. Now just jump back in the car, head to the next group, and rinse-and-repeat!

Once you kill the final enemy at the second site you will collect what amounts to an easy $5000 and 1200 RP reward -- clearly an easy way to level up a relatively new character while at the same time building some cash for important purchases like Weapons and upgrades.

Mission: Crystal Clear Out III

Area: Grand Senora Desert

The Vagos have set up a number of new meth labs around Sandy Shores. Clearly they aren't getting the message, so it's time for a less subtle approach. Take out their operations at every location.

Hints and Tips: This mission is similar to Crystal Clear Out II but has a bit more enemy action and is a bit more of a challenge -- if you have not capped-off your stats you may need to pay a bit more attention to finding (and using) cover. Armor clearly will help here.

Basically when the mission starts grab a ride and head to the first marked location on your radar map, then use the ride as cover and take out as many of the enemy as you can from a distance. Once you have thinned out their numbers you can then proceed closer, using what cover you can find, and finish them off as they appear.

Once the first area is clear of enemies grab a vehicle and make your way to a spot near and preferably above the next area so you can leisurely take out the obvious enemies from a distance. Do not allow them to flank you, and once you have them thinned out, make your way down to the site using the available cover to finish off the remaining enemy.

Now grab a ride and drive to the next (and final) site on your radar map and take up a position using the ride as cover near but preferably a bit above the next site. Pick off the bulk of the enemy from there, and once you have them thinned out, move in to mop up.

After you kill the final enemy this will end the mission, and you will get your reward of $7,000 and 2000 RP which is a tasty bit of reward!

Daemon Run

Get over there, interrupt it, and get the package. Bring it back to me, I'll break off some change, we pretend like nothing happened. That's the lick. You good?

Hints and Tips: Once you complete taking out the bangers at the actual scene and you grab the stash, a new group will spawn in Vehicles. You need to kill all of them and then deliver the package, not just try and run to the delivery site.

Death from Above

Hints and Tips: Make your way to the target location and start taking out the guards, then kill the target and make proof before you escape the cops and deliver the proof.

Hints and Tips: For this one you get a more straight-forward play -- just take out the guards, steal the package of drugs, and then deliver it to the marked destination. Easy-peasey!

Dirt Road

Do you want ice in that? Hookies Diner in North Chumash... family restaurant, local landmark, meth distribution hub. A crew of Sandy Shores dealers have been running drugs up and down Raton Canyon from Hookies for The Lost Biker gang. Chase down the couriers, and deliver the product to the drop-off for payment.

Hints and Tips: Once you approach the site that will trigger the Runners to take off -- and you then need to chase them down and kill them to obtain the product. It will help a lot of you use a proper off-road vehicle for this. It will also work best if you do it with at least one partner -- though it is possible to do this solo it is just a lot harder because there is more than one Runner.

If you are quick you can usually take out both runners on the road going into the hills before they reach the bridge or the highway.

Once you have the meth you simply need to head to Trevor's trailer in Sandy Shore where you get a short CS with him, and the mission ends. Your reward for this is $2,000 and around 1,000 RP (depending upon how you did).

Dish the Dirt

Hints and Tips: This is actually fairly easy - just take out the overwatch, steal the product, and take it to the drop-off point.

Dry Docking

Hints and Tips: Go to the shipyard and crack the safe to steal the records. After that, steal the boat and deliver the boat to the marina.

Editor and Thief

Hints and Tips: Break into Fort Zancudo and take out the informant then take out the District Attorney and collect the briefcase, delivering it to Madrazo's house

Sabotage their plans and make some money in the process by stealing the bikes and delivering them to the drop-off. The factory is heavily guarded so make sure you scope it out before moving in.

Hints and Tips: This is a team-effort mission so grab a few mates and then a ride and head to the site where the tractor-trailer is located on your radar map. You will need to take out the guards and, once you have the site reasonably clear, hijack the truck and drive it to the destination marked on your radar map.

In addition to clearing away the guards and stealing the truck, you also need to transport the tractor-trailer from the factory to the drop-off point, while carefully protecting the truck and its cargo! There is no point in grabbing it just to destroy the cargo of valuable bikes, right?

Once you actually have the truck out on the highway your mates can follow you and protect it from attack and you simply need to drive it to and place it on the marker, at which point you will receive the reward -- $5,000 and, depending on how well you followed the mission parameters, around 1,000 RP each!

Hints and Tips: Ambush the drug deal then check the vehicle's GPS and head to the depot in El Burro Heights to hack the laptop to trace the supplier. Then head to the hangar at LSI Airport and steal the coke before you destroy the crew's Vehicles and take out the supplier. Once you accomplish that, head to Madrazo's house to complete the mission.

Hints and Tips: This one is a bit more complicated -- first you head to the deal location where you rescue Stanley and retrieve the package of drugs. After that you need to deliver the package to Gerald's apartment and grab the supplies there, then go to the gang territory and destroy the gang's Vehicles.

At that point and with the gang leader fleeing, take him out, you need to hunt him down and kill him! Simpatico!

Note: This mission is said to be one of the best to obtain the Phoenix muscle car, which is one of the rarest cars in GTAO.

No Smoking

Hints and Tips: Go to the cement works and steal the trailer. Deliver the trailer to the boatyard, then protect the shipment by killing the bikers. After you accomplish all of that you just need to meet the buyer.

At Braddock Farm they grow the kind of high-quality organic crops that sell for $3,000 a pound and are tended by scary men with machine guns. Pay a surprise visit and take over delivery of their next consignment.

Hints and Tips: This is another mission that can be played solo if you like, and is also one of the easy grinds for RP and money...

At the start of the mission grab a ride and drive to a point a fair distance up the road from the pair of guards in the road ahead, and then use your sniper rifle to take them both out. Doing this triggers the van spawn BUT -- in stead of getting into your ride and driving to meet it, just stay where you are on the dirt road and the van will come to YOU!

As it approaches simply shoot the driver through the wind screen and, when it rolls to a stop, open the door and pull his body out, then get in and drive the van to Tervor's trailer in Sandy Shores and part it in the garage -- which will complete the mission.

Your reward is $7,000 and around 1,250 RP (depending upon how you did) for what is a very fast mission making it ideal for grinding money and RP solo.

Quarry Quarry

Two trucks out by the Alamo Sea are loaded with a type of high-value cargo that certain people are determined to sabotage at all costs. Deliver the trucks safely to their destinations and your efforts won't go unnoticed.

Hints and Tips: This is a straight-up team effort with one side protecting the convoy of two trucks from the enemy while the other grabs the trucks and drives them through what is basically a large portion of the map!

To make things easier on yourself play the role that you think you can play best - either driver or protector - which while it sounds like obvious advice will help a lot for the over-all team effort if you communicate your preference to the players you are playing with. Just saying.

This pays $5,000 and around 1,600 RP though it is not a short mission, which means it is not really suitable for grinding as such.

Turbine Carbine

Hints and Tips: A breath of fresh air - an assassination contract! Head to the resort and locate the Judge, then kill him. Soon as you have done that slink back to Marties and collect your reward.

Hints and Tips: Repo the car and then ignore the two angry women and return it to the dealership in good condition!

Possible Game-Breaking Bug

There is a bug in the game that crops up when a player has not played the game for a significant length of time -- the guess is something like more than 3 months but there is no sure idea of just how long...

What happens is the players online character is deleted from the cloud at Rockstar Social Club and with it the record of the Missions they have done. This has the effect of LOCKING ALL of the missions! So when you return to the game and go to play a mission you discover that you cannot play ANY of the missions, and I mean ANY.

There is nothing you can do to fix this yourself other than to play the game and level your rank in order to cause the cloud to re-add your character. Once that happens, it can take anywhere from a day to a week before the Missions return to your game, and some players report that they never did.

If you are one of the unlucky ones whose Missions do not return you have to submit a request for help through the official Rockstar process via Social Club. Sorry mates.
