How to Defeat Raditz in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Raditz is the first tough boss (third boss) you encounter in Dragon Ball Z and you will discover that unlike previous games in the Dragon Ball Z series he is a formidable foe as you are unable to power up too much beforehand. Check out How to Defeat Raditz guide to find out how you can beat him.

Raditz is a Saiyan who comes to Earth to check on the progress of his younger brother, Goku, only to discover that rather than wiping out the inhabitants of Earth, Goku has been aiding them. The Raditz fight is a two part battle, the first part is with Piccolo helping and is relatively simple but this will change in the second part of the battle when you are forced to fight whithout Piccolo who is charging the Special Beam Cannon and Raditz uses different abilities to attack you.

Part 1

Piccolo will be at your side the first time you encounter Raditz in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and you should be able to overwhelm him by rushing him with a flurry of attacks so he has little opportunity to counterattack. Whilst you are doing this you should take advantage of Piccolo's support moves which can be accessed by holding the right shoulder button on your controller and pressing one of two face buttons. This will quickly help deplete Radiz health but after removing a few of Raditz health bars Picollo will leave the battle to charge up his utlimate which will leave you alone against Raditz.

Part 2

Now that Picollo is no longer in the fight it is up to you to finish him off by landing the final blows. The problem though is after the brief cutscene intermission you will quickly realise that Raditz has new attacks called the Saturday Crash, Cyclone Monday, and Double Sunday which he can use. The Saturday Crash sees Raditz release a barrage of Ki Orbs which you will need to evade. The easiest way to this is to distance yourself from Raditz so it is easier to dodge them and if need be block them. If you fail to block a Ki Orb it will break your guard leaving you exposed to Raditz follow up attack. Cyclone Monday is another of Raditz new attacks where he does a few vertical or horizontal spinning kicks. When Raditz does this attack you need to dodge them by continuously moving away from the Saiyan Warrior until he expresses exhaustion and then while he is recuperating you need to counter attack. The final new abilty Raditz has which you will have to content with is the Double Sunday where he will spin in the air slowly while launching a continuous energy beam from each hand. To avoid this attack you need to continously move horizontal with up and down movements making sure you don't get hit in the process. Fly upwards when Double Sunday is narrow and fly towards the ground when the technique is wide.

And lastly, it is important that you remember to stop attacking and block when Raditz gains a reda aura as this indicates he is about to do a stun attack which will leave you wide open if it connects.
