D Medals are purple shining balls that are an essential item in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot as they are used by the playable characters in the game as currency to learn new Super Attacks at the training grounds. Side Quests
You can earn D Medals by completing the side quests inbetween the main story. The side quests in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot tend to involve a short fight against an enemy and each time you successfully complete one will usually earn you 1 D Medal as a reward.
Exploring
D-Medals are scattered thoughout the world of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and they can be found by exploring. You will be able to see how many are available in a particularly area on the World Map by pressing the left shoulder button (L1 on PS4) to activate the Ki option to search the landscape.
Z Encyclopedia.
The quickest way to get D Medals is to acquire them as rewards for filling out the Z Encyclopedia. You will be able to add more entries to the Z Encyclopedia through natural game progression in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot by completing activities such as battles, fishing, and resource gathering. You can keep track of the Z Encyclopedia at the 'Main' menu by pressing the button prompt (Triangle on PS4). When opened you will be able to view the different requirements to unlock D Medals in the Relation Chart, Characters, World, Bestiary, Vehicles, Items, Terms, Cards, Videos, and BGM sections on the table of contents. You will automatically receive any D Medals you are owed.
