Collect Z Orbs

One way to unlock more powerful moves for Goku and the rest of the team is to collect the Z Orbs which can be found scattered around the game world. Z Orbs are used to unlock new abilities from the development tree of selected characters. The region where you find the Z Orb will determine its colour.

Training Sessions

There are certain skills in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot that can only be unlocked by going to a training ground and undergoing training. These abilities are denoted with a green icon. To start traininng you must first find a training ground and have a sufficient number of D medals. In the training sessions you will fight the spiritual projection of the character you are controlling or duel with already defeated enemies.

D Medals

D medals can be found in the game world buried at various difficult to access areas, you will be able to easily find their locations by using Ki. D medals are also given as rewards fro completing quests. Check out our D Medal Guide to find out everything you need to know about them in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Soul Emblems

Soul Emblems are character icons that represent different characters from the game. As you make progress in the storyline or complete side quests you will receive Soul Emblems which can then be used to develop the commnuity board and give you access to new skills for your character. Check out our Soul Emblem Guide to find out everything you need to know about them in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Search for Dragon Balls

Once you have defeated Frieza you will be able to collect the Dragon Balls that are scattered around the world. Each time you collect 7 of them you will be given a chance to make a wish. Check out our Dragon Ball Guide to find out more about them.

Satisfy Hunger

When your character is suffering from hunger you will need to satisfy it by cooking and eating food. In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot you will be able to hunt dinosaurs and fish by taking part in mini-games. Eating food will also strengthen your character by increasing their stats for a certain duration.

Prepare Dishes

In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot you can purchase ready-made dishes or gather the required ingredients for a meal and either visit towns to find cooks that can help you use your ingredients to make the food or ask Chi-Chi, Goku's wife to prepare the dish. The recipes required for dishes become unlocked by making progress and completing various tasks. Cooking full-course meals will result in a more filling dish that will give combined stat boosts from different dishes.

Complete Side Quests and Missions

As you progress in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot you will meet characters that will give you side quests and missions you can tackle. Try to complete these as doing so will reward you useful items that includes food, ingredients, Soul Emblems, and EXP. Check out our Farming Resources Guide to find out how and where you can obtain the essential items you need in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Easier Battles

Side quests are chapter-limited so if you do not complete them before completing a chapter they are gone forever.
