Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Farming Resources Guide

In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot there are several different items you will require on your journey which are essential for things such as giving you stat boosts, purchasing skills, and training. Check out our Farming Resources Guide to find out what these vital items are, how to use them, and the best way to farm them.

Zeni

The in-game currency used in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is Zeni and during the course of the game you will need it to be able to purchase a lot of the items.

• During the early game you will be able to earn Zeni by fishing. Some fish, such as the Golden Fish have scales which you can sell for Zeni, in this case 300 Zeni each. Check out our Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Fishing Guide to find out more about fishing.

• Another way to earn Zeni is to kill the dinosaurs that roam the world and sell the different items you harvest from their bodies. The highest selling part is Dinosaur Fangs which can be sold for 1800 Zeni each. You can also use their meat for cooking.

After you have made certain progresses you will be able to start collecting Dragon Balls which is the most-yeilding method in the game to get Zeni. Once you have found all seven you will be able to summon the Dragon and make a wish, one of the options is to recieve Zeni. If you select it you will recieve 30,000 Zeni.

Dragon Balls

Once you have completed the Frieza Saga you will be able to start collecting Dragon Balls during the free time you get between missions. This is the only time you will be able to find and collect Dragon Balls. The easiest way to find them is by looking for a Dragon Ball icon on the map and then travelling to the area and using your Dragon Rader to pinpoint its whereabouts which you then need to explore. Dragon Balls have a 20-minute cooldown before you can find them again and make another wish. Check out our Dragon Ball Guide to find out more about them.

Food Items

In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot it is essential that you are constantly farming food items as they are needed for the recipes which you cook. Consuming food will give your character temporary or permanent stat boosts which will help prepare them for the challenges ahead. Food items can be obtained by catching fish, killing and harvesting the animals roaming around, gathering from trees, or by purchasing them directly from stores. Using 'Search for Ki' highlights them in the world.

Z Orbs

Collecting Z Orbs is important as they are used to make your characters more powerful by unlocking Super Attacks and other abilities. Z Orbs can also be used to upgrade existing abilities. Z Orbs can be obtained in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot by defeating enemies in the main story missions and side quests and they can also be found by exploring the different random areas of the game. Try to use every Airway or Phantom Airway that you come across in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot as they will always have Z Orbs in them. Most times when you defeat a story enemy, you will be rewarded two Rainbow Z Orbs. Placing Spirit Emblems in the community of the Gods increases the amount of Orbs you receive if you want to maximise your yield.

D Medals

D Medals ae similar to Z Orbs in that they can be used for obtaining new Super Attacks and abiltiies, in this case they are used to pay for the training sessions. Every character in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has their own unique Training sessions and they each require D Medals. If you want multiple abilities for your characters you will need D Medals for them all. You can find D Medals by using the World Map to determine how many can be found in a specific area and then easily pinpointing them by using 'Search for Ki' to highlight them in the world. D Medals can also be earned from completing the main story missions and side quests. Check out our D Medal Guide to find out everything you need to know about them.
