#1 - Watchog

Here we are, the number one Unova Pokemon that deserve a Mega Evolution - this selection has almost everything to do with desperation - and probably the worst final stage Pokemon of all time: Watchog. If you expected any different, you have to that a minute to remember how horrible this thing is. Let's put it this way: all of us of this team writing this article would choose frail, little old Pikachu over Watchog. From its horrible move pool, to its poor choice in abilities, down to its below-average stats in not one, not two, but EVERY SINGLE Base Stat Category, Watchog is a nightmare (and not in a good way).

If Watchog were to ever receive a Mega Evolution, which most of us severely doubt will ever happen, Watchog would need a makeover from head to toe. And this would start with a new dual typing. Watchog, unfortunately, would have to keep its Normal Typing, but it could still gain either a Psychic or Dark Typing to go along with it to better suit its appearance and movepool. From there, most of its Mega Evolution Point Increase would have to go to its Attack or Special Attack, and the rest to its Speed Stat. There is no point in further boosting its defensive stats, as they can't get much better than where they are at now.

After that, the last thing needed is a brand new ability. Personally, we'd like to see it get something like Protean to further boost its power. But if it gets such a substantial boost to its offensive capabilities, then that might be a little too over the top. Sheer Force would also be nice, but it too might be too much for such a Pokemon. But Adaptability, it wouldn't be too great, making it the perfect ability it.
