10 Pokemon Sun and Moon Evolutions that Make Sense

Tied #7 - Umbreon

Now if Espeon, the Sun Species Pokemon, receives a Mega Evolution, then it only makes sense for its counterpart brother, Umbreon, who just so happens to be the Moonlight Species Pokemon, to also get one. And thus is the reason why they tied with each other in our rankings. They came into the Pokemon World together in Pokemon Gold and Silver, and in Sun & Moon they would become Mega Eeveelutions together.

Since Umbreon is the Moonlight Pokemon, it just makes almost too much sense for it to be an exclusive Mega Stone / Evolution in Pokemon Moon. It has the design, the species, and the moves (such as Moonlight to regain Hit Points from utilizing the moon) that all point to it, like Espeon, receiving a Mega Evolution.

Similar to the direction of what we think Mega Espeon would be like, we think Umbreon would receive more of an offensive boost to its stats as Mega Umbreon. Umbreon is already an incredible defensive Pokemon, so it could have most of the Mega Evolution Stat Boost go to both its Attack and Special Attack. Don't get us wrong, we'd like to see most of the increase go to just one of its offensive stats and it can be either a Physical or Special Attacker, but history shows it would receive a useless boost to both stats.

Since, even with this type of increase to its stats, Umbreon would still be a defensive Pokemon first, ti would be nice to also give it an offensive ability to further help out the boost. It would already be receiving a good boost to its offensive stats, so it would need the best offensive ability ever. Something like Speed Boost would be too much over the top, but something like Sheer Force could be cool to see on a defensive-first Pokemon.
