10 Pokemon Sun and Moon Evolutions that Make Sense

#8 - Flygon

This is the first Pokemon we've chosen that doesn't really fit into the whole Sun & Moon theme that the titles give a perception of, but we did say some of the Pokemon in these rankings wouldn't fit that particular mold. Some Pokemon have such a high level of deserving a Mega Evolution, and Flygon is right up there with any other Pokemon, especially since it was SUPPOSE to receive one back in Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

Flygon was first released back in the Third Generation of Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald, and when the news broke of the games finally getting a remake, it was one every Pokemon Fan's mind to receive one. Apparently, it was also on the minds of the creators who were in the work of making Mega Flygon. Unfortunately, a good enough design was never created or decide upon, and it never happened. But with Sun & Moon, the perfect opportunity has now arisen to rectify to injustice. And if they need an excuse to actually connect it to the theme of the new games, they can say Flygon is from the Mystic Species, which is technically close enough.

As a Mega Evolution, Flygon would also remain very similar to its normal self. It would most likely continue to be a Dragon/Ground Type Pokemon, but a Flying/Dragon Typing would allow it to receiving a new ability and yet still be immune to ground type attacks. Since all of it's stats are basically split evenly, its Mega Evolution Stat Boost would do the same. It might receive more of an increase to Attack and Special Attack, just because its stats are also this way. As for an ability, Adaptability or Aerilate (if it becomes a Flying Type) would be a nice ability for it.
