How to Eliminate the Enemy

A Plague Tale: Innocence puts a big emphasis on stealth and progressing through the game unseen. As you play a teenage girl with only a slingshot as protection you really don't have no other choice but to sneak about as most of the enemies you encounter are guards who are fully grown men trained to kill. At some point during the game though it is inevitable that you will be detected by the enemy and will have no other option but to fight. You will not be able to escape by running away as Amicia is too slow and you will most likely have Hugo with you. The first thing you can do is to quickly try and change cover and hope the enemy doesn't notice you doing it. If you are successful they will either stop looking for you or continue but will not know where you are. This guide will tell you how to eliminate the enemy if you have been exposed and left with no other choice.

Slingshot

A headshot using Amicia's slingshot will allow you to eliminate a guard if they are not wearing a helmet, if there is more than one guard she will be overwhelmed before she is able to kill the second one. If Amicia's target is wearing a helmet her slingshot will not be able to do any damage to them until you reach Chapter V.

Rats

If there are rats near a guard and there is no external light source you can use them to your advantage to eliminate your enemy. To do this you will need to lure the rats near to the guard and then using Amicia's slingshot fire a shot at the lantern he carries to put it out. This will make the rats attack him.

Odoris

Odoris is a potion that lures rats to a specific point. If Amicia has this potion she can throw it at the enemy to make the rats attack him. This trap can only be used when there is no external light source.

Somnum

Once you meet Lucas you will get a recipe for Somnum, a tranquilising potion that will allow you to put the enemy to sleep. Once you know How to Craft this potion you need to ensure Amicia is always equipped with one so she can use it against the enemy if she is ever detected.

Devorantis

When you Reach Chapter VII you will meet Melie. She is a burgler who will teach you how to create Devorantis, a substance that burns through metal. When Amicia creates ammunition with this substance and fires it at a guard that has a helmet it will remove the helmet from the enemy exposing their head allowing her to eliminate them with another headshot.
