My dud is hungry and his food icon us really low.Its so low that it's empty.he keeps rubing his stomach but he never dies.how long will it take for him to die.or do I have to do something else before he dies.

He should die pretty soon. When he does he can come back a ghost. Its cool. Hope this helps.

How bout you try my idea.
Put you're sim at some place that easily has fire such as cooking or let you're sim(that you wanna kill) eat poison food(rarely) and thats it!

This happens rare for me but my sim(s) died 3 times. There is a way only if that sim is just standing still and you the fire code alarm reach it's limit.
