No the sim can never speak english but if you play enough then you will start to understand them in their language.

blueflowers123 answered:

NO......they can't never ever ever speak english they just talk in their sims language.

Sims2freak101 answered:

No. I think they do that so you can't understand them if they say a bad word.

sometimes sims do say real words or similar, like once when a sim neighbour arrived at my house the sim said herro to my sim.

Everyword they say is part of different laungauge every now and then you can hear the mmutter some english words but they can never full out speak english, becasue sometimes they dont speak a language at all they just say some un known words.

I think there should be a sims game where you can talk for your own sims ,like a :talking thing: or if they just made sims speak english. I play sims nearly all the time and I think it's boring cause I can't understand thembut I still love itSmile

i Kno Right because i tried
Guest answered:

Right I think what it is is that they speak all languages but you can't make them speak one language at once and they can't say more than 4 words in the same language! So they might say like one thing then another thing but in different languages! Once I heard my sim say oh snap or sometimes I hear them say stuff in english either that or they speak a weird unknwon french because I heard some french in there like parle because my brother told me that it's a weird kind of unknown french that only a few people in the world know! So hope this helps! Xxx

Guest answered:

There is no way you can make you sim speak english IF there is any way it would probably be on youtube. Sorry.

Guest answered:

My sims say things like 'oh crammit' which is like 'oh dammit' - so thats probably all the english your going to get, sorry.

Guest answered:

I just heard my Sim say 'Life is dreadful' in perfect English before going back to Simlish.

Guest answered:

You don't need them to speak english at all. You can tell what their talking about by the little speech bubble with a picture in it above their head. I can understand them well now cause I play sims like every day so if you play it lots eventully you will understand. If you are struggling to understand just look at the picture in the speech bubble above their head and then you can kind of find out what their talking about.

Guest answered:

Umm...the guy who made sims made it to where you can change the language. The sims originally speak simlish, but if you type in the right cheat which is:
1. "clt" "shift" "c"
2. Englishspeakingsim
3. Enter.
If you're cheat box doesn't automatically dissaper than you're game won't allow it, but it should cause the game created maxis came up with that cheat 4 changing the language.
Have fun with you're new language!

Guest answered:

I have not tried it but maybe if you changed your device to a different language than they might speak more English.

Guest answered:

Cmon the simlish language they added is for a little imagination sometimes when you think about it you'll laugh.and yes I know simlish language.when a sim is flirting with the other they will simply say "dabadoo".and when the sim is teaching a toddler to talk they often say "aba-circila".and when angry they say"aa-dabonee".so have fun with these.

caitytrina answered:

They will always speak Simlish to be a universal game for everyone. Though you can generally tell what they want, pointing at throat = hungry, bored face = bored, angry face = angry, bouncing up and own - on fire etc

tigercat2007 answered:

The cheat englishspeakingsim does not work I tried it myself. It just says unknown command in the box.
The sims will alays speak their language which is simish.Only ' Some of the cheats found on the internet actually work ' One I use to use a lot before I got my sims better paid jobs was motherlode and I found that very helpfull as I didn't have a lot of money to start off with so I put in motherlode in to help me out when I began a new game. Then Once I reached Job Level 2 I didn't use afterwards.

Guest answered:

It would be cool if the sims in sims 4 spoken different languages instead of simlish??
