Mode Switch

This tip is particularly useful when you are playing in Freeplay mode as performing it enables you to toggle between Direct Control mode and Cursor Select mode. To perform it you simply have to press Back.

Return to Life

In The Sims 2 on PS2 the Grim Reaper will appear when a Sim has died. In order to save the Sims life you can accept the option to challenge him by playing the violin. If the sim has high creativity, charisma and logic skills and has died in a Platinum mood this will not be too much of a problem. However if your Sim doesn't have these qualities you may be better to just pay the 100 Simoleaons he requests to resurrect your Sim. Get Promoted

In the Sims 2 for PS2 your Sims can be promoted to their next-highest job in their career track by having all the skills at the correct level. You can check if all the skills are correct in the Career menu (left directional button).

Make Sims Fall in Love

In the Sims 2 for PS 2 you can make two Sims fall in love. Go to our Make Sims Fall in Love tip to find out how this is done.

Have a Baby

You can have a baby in The Sims 2 for PS2 by keep kissing your partner until an option appears that says 'Do you want a baby?'. Press X to have a baby.

Make a Super Smoothie

Save Money

The best way in which to save money in The Sims 2 on PS2 when completing the various objectives that require buying furniture is to purchase the cheapest materials possible. This is because after the objective has been completed you can delete them and get your full money back.

Get More Clothes

One way in which you can get more clothes for your Sims is to raise their relationship to 100. Each time you raise the relationship of a Sim to 100 you will unlock a new article of clothing for their wardrobe.

You can make your Sims a super smoothie that will increase their stats by gathering and harvesting the following ingredients from one or more Frood tree. The ingredients are Strawberry, Mangosteen, Starfruit, Persimmon. Once you have the required ingredients go to your countertop and choose 'Prep fruit compote' or 'Make fruit'. Then go to your blender and 'Make fruit smoothie'. When you do so your smoothie will have the following stats.
- Hunger 103
- Energy 65
- Bladder -8
- Boost to 'Fun'
- Aphrodesiac Effect
- Skill Boost Effect
Note: In order to get the stats above your Sim must have Level 10 Cooking skill, Multiquick Blender, and you-Probe-It Refrigerator Organism.

You can make two Sims fall in love in The Sims 2 on PS2 by having a Sim go to bed and then calling another Sim and woo hoo them over and over again. In order to do this you need to ensure that their comfort levels are down so that they stay in bed otherwises they will hop out. Keep woo hooing them until you see a red heart above their heads or in the relationship listings to indicate they are in love.

If you have a metal detector an you have always wondered what those dark spots in the middle of the house were.....It's a buried treasure. It's different everytime but once I got 4,000 simoleons off of it. Hope that helps.

Cheat Trophy

Take the following ingrediants from the fridge and use the blender to blend them together. This concoction should be called "Slush" or something like that. It will have hearts flowing out, but it doesn't make people happy. It will cause them to throw up, then they will clutch their stomach, fall over, and die! Here are the ingredients!:
1. Llama (Buy it from fridge)
2. Beet (Buy from fridge)
3. Squid (Harvest from an aquarium in your house)
4. Fauxiestra (i think that is what it is called, it's the only oil without the word "oil" at the end of it's name. You have to buy it from the fridge.)
Please note that the death drink doesn't ALWAYS work, it works most often when the person's motives are lower.

Get a hot tub and call as many people as you can into the tub, then put objects all on the ground around the tub so they can't get out. The game will make you keep one spot open so one person can get out, but the rest have to stay in the tub with you and gain friendship, whether they like it or not. You might want to max all your motives with a cheat gnome before you get in, so that you can stay in longer. The best recommended object is the cheap green chair.
*WARNING* Sims not being taken control of might become very tired, hungry, or have to pee and may faint, starve, or wet theirselves immediately after exiting the tub.

First you build a small room and build a door and lead your enemy or foe to the room. Later on get out and take away the door. Then put a sertent wall paper that looks to you like pure torture. Get the costume trunk and put wear nothing.Then put a chair or scary object in. Then you have a torture room.
I did it with the sunset canyon to helga. Shiela was scareing her all the time.

To kill your sims fast make a room with a lot of fireplaces and put plants around them(light them then buy the plants) and delete the door so yhey don't leave and when they're dead you can spook people

Ok, as the title says, there is something important you wanna know about the cheat gnome other than having cheats. Now, if you enabled the cheat gnome (L1, R1, Up, X, R2), don't try selling it on the place you are in if you are in buy catalog. Because it wont appear. Im at the orbit room at the time and when I sold it, it didn't appear anymore. So try not selling it. You may go from another location then come back.

For all of those inquiring minds out there, I'm going to go step-by-step on how to get married, so listen up! (Yes, everything is mandatory -except for step 1) All of this has always worked for me.
Step 1: If you don't like all of the people on Free Play, make your own person especially for your sim.
Step 2: Throw a party and hope that your new sim shows up. If not, don't worry, they'll show up later. (If you already know the sim, then just invite them over.)
Step 3: Serve a plate of food and turn on the TV.
Step 4: When the sim in question comes over, let them eat and use the restroom.
Step 5: Watch TV and as you are watching TV, click on your lover and there should be a 'Watch TV' option on the socials list.
Step 6..

Instead of sleeping and wasting all your time buy the espresso machine and make espressos this increases your bed motive and it takes like 10 seconds(10 game min.)

If your looking to double your money, them start a new freeplay game. While you are choosing your lot, evict the current family, but DO NOT clear out the house. When you go to move in a family to the house you evicted the previous family from, use the family you evicted. Thats right, evict the family from the house you want, then move in the same family. Now all you have to do is edit the characters to your liking, and depending on how much money the family had before you evicted them, you will have twice as much!

This was a random glitch that happened to me. This is how to do it. Make a guy/girl you want to marry DON'T make them live with you. Make two kids live with them. It takes a minute for the two kids to show up after you marry the person. The second you're married, do a normal kiss. If the kids didn't show up yet, it should say, "Do you want to have a baby?" click yes, and you have 5 people! It DID work for me. It might not work the first time.

I see a lot of people are having problems with the cheat gnome well when your raedy to get it just press L1, L1, R1, x, x, up quickly and in your front yard you should have a blue cheat gnome but it will only work if you have cheats to with it.

These are one of the easiest things you can do to make on sim like the other, even if they wont interact.
1.Turn off the free will
2.Buy the Spin the bottle game
3.call the other 1-3 sims and play!
4.do the fill all motives cheat on every sim that will play
5.repeat step 4 when the meters turn red
Note* the sims can't be enimes, or they wont kiss, and make sure they all meet, plus, if 2 sims are lovers, and they keep kissing other sims, their love points will drop, same with any 2 sims that like each other in any way, other than enimes.*

Every time you get 100 relatonship poits with someone you get a new item of clothing

Ok guys. People are really struggling to get information on this console of the game as it differs alot from the PC version, so I'm just going to clear up some FAQ.
1. There are NO babies on the PS2 version
2. Multiple Story houses are not on the PS2 version
3. Cheats are only accessable when using one sim. Multiple sims will degrade the cheat as buttons will be used for other purposes, i.e L1 R1 = Switch sim.
4. Yes, it is possible to have woohoo.
5. NOTE: The money cheat does not effect the stance of your Fire Alarm!!!!!! It is invoulentary. If there wasnt one, the houses would be too crammed up!!!

Ok, since I have been browsing through the questions lately, I thought of making it clear for everybody. If the house icon ( with fire icon on top of it ) reached the very top of the house. I mean if the red bar reaches the very top of the house, there will be a fire after the last object you put in. The fire will occur in any object ( i.e can be beds or tv ). I wish that solve your problems ^_^.

Hit the pause button and then go to the buy catolog and buy a fish tank wich is in the miscellaneous section and place it anywere in the house. Then go to the grab mode and grab it then hit square to sell it. Before you exit the grab menu look at were the fish tank was, and there should be floating bubbles.

How to have lots of money

Get a U-Probe-It fridge and put all the dairy items and make it.It will increase your stats by three.Example:if you hae 5 strenght points you will have 8.

When you have made sweet vegetable soup (and eat it) love hearts will come out of you're head! You can make sweet veg soup by taking carot,passion fruit and lime from the frige go 2 more and then it should say make sweet vegetable soup.(it feds 42 hunger 2)

Get your Sims Creativity Skills all the way up
Buy about 4 Cheap Tables (Bel-Air Dining tables are the beste)
And fill those tables with Bonsai trees
Make your sim Prune all the trees
And sell them
They start out at 250
And when you sell em there usually 500 or more

To get easy aspiration points make your sim die then open up the goals menu and there should be a goal like spook a sim or posess a sim and these will keep reapeating and they are all worth 400-700 points. P.S. I tried this on freeplay mode.

*fades in out of fog* If you keep on putting on Fog,Lasers and Fireworks on the D.J. Booth then you could be electrocuted and then die so now you know *fades out again*

Buy better refidgerators to get better food items and for the harvested foods buy a fish tank, frood tree, or a veggi box ( or something like that)

This is for all of the Sims werdos that like seeing there sims naked....First buy that Pathologie Costume Truck in the Miscellaneous section, put it in your house, click on it and choose "wear nothing" Thats it, your sim will be naked!

I found this one out the hard way. There is a glitch to get the phone stuck to your sims hand. Go to the phone. Make sure it is cordless. I went to "prank phone call" and went to "fake names". That was not the one I had wanted to do so I hit triangle right as I was picking up the phone to canclefrom calling.
When I walked away I noticed that the phone was stuck on my hand. I went back to the phone reciever and tried to use it but the phone was still stuck to my hand so I bought a new one. Couldn't use that one either. So I left that area and then came back.
The phone was not on my hand anymore but I still couldn't use the phone or the new one I bought. So be warned that if you use this glitch you will never be able to use a phone in that area again.

First by a rocket set from the skill buying section or you can by a easel from the same place.
Either build the rocket or paint the picture.
After that is done, Select sell object and you get EASY money.(Rockets sell for more!!!!!!)
Another way is............GET A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile

This is very simple. All you have to do is power nap on a couch with a radio that is on near you, and have a tv on.

In order to get a promotion in your career just follow the simple tasks given below:-
1) Pause the game and go to the career option .
2) Upgrade the skill that is needed by checking it in the career option.
3)Get the exact or higher number of friends needed by carefully checking the bottom - right side of the screen .
Once you've done that you will get a promotion as soon as you do the same career. After your sim's work is done you will notice a square - shaped notice - box read it. Hope I helped .

Instead of sleeping and wasting all your time buy the espresso machine and make espressos this increases your bed motive and it takes like 10 seconds(10 game min.)

Get the u-probit frig ( 7,700 points ) get eveything from dairy then then hit make drink drink it twice and your stats will go up by three say body was 5 it would be 8 this is good getting promotions ealisy

My sim is dressed in black (well he is a rocker) now i've tested this only with makino.there are many ways o do this but I choosed 2.
1. Buy the workshop that lets you create gnomes,flamingos and rocket gnomes. Have your sim's mech. Skill fulll. Create the rocket gnome.place it in the living room if you live with mimi you can just call her over then set the place on fire.
2. Invite someone over. When he wants to leave press pause. Sell all of the doors and windows if you want. In about 5 or 6 sim day he will die.
Note:you can sell the grave for 5 simoleons and the spirit wont be haunting you.

If your sim goes to sleep on a couch and there is a t.v or radio on near by. His/or her energy and fun lever will go up.
