You can Vincent in the mansion in the home town of cloud. Just make your way thrugh the story. And when your in the basement part go into a side room. Vincent will be in a coffin. Just go start kicking the coffin. Vincent will come out and tell you to go away. Just keep annoying him till he doesnt come out anymore. When you leave he will want to go with you. Vincent is a secret character. You can get him on any disk. Cid is a main character in the story. You will get him wether you like it or not. So I wouldnt worry aboute him. He will join your party in rocket town when you steal his plane. He will jump on and join your party. Youl have fun playin this game. Good luck!

You'll get cid along the main story

To get vincent, you need to unlock the safe in the second floor of the shinra mansion. There'll be a note in the room directly left of the main entrance that'll have the clues to the combination. Theres a fourth hidden option in the note as well for the 4th number.

When you get the combination go to the safe and you'll have to fight a boss called Lost Number, when hes defeated take the key from the safe and the summon materia from the ground. Now go down to the basement and go in the door just before the one you went in during the flashback. Vincent is in the coffin

After the conversation walk out the room and he'll come out and join your party

Vincent: Enter Nibelheim and go to the Shinra Mansion. Go to the safe and enter the combination Right 36, Left 10, Right 59, Right 97. Don't go past any number when entering this combination or it won't work. Once you've opened the safe, you will fight the Lost Number boss. Use magic attacks on it, and when it turns into the Red side, use physical attacks. Aeris' Seal Evil limit break works great here. Once you have done so, collect the Cosmo Memory limit break and the Basement Key. Go down to the basement and enter the room next to the library. Talk to the centre coffin and Vincent willjump out. After a short conversation He will go back inside. Wake him again and he wil tell you his name. After this you cannot wake him up any longer. Once you leave the basement after going into the loibrary or not, Vincent will join your party. Vincent is an optional character. You don't have to get him but I strongly advise you do.

Cid: Rocket Town. Just follow the storyline here. You have to have him in your party because he plays a big lead role.

You get Cid in Rocket Town and Vincent in Nibleheim.
I don't know the town real name but if you get FF7 in a computer that is it, just download a Save Game Editor.
