How do you tell if it is a river chocobo or a mountain chocobo?

I've just started mating chocobos and I can't tell if it is a mountain chocobo or a river chocobo or neither. Can anyone help?

The River Chocobo will be blue in colour and the Mountain Chocobo will be green.

The River Chocobo is Blue, the Mountain one being Green.
