Ok I mated a great male which was in class a and a good female which was in class b and I got a mountail chocobo? Can anyone tell me what I did wrong or is my game stuffing up??

No there is nothing wrong you just need to keep breeding them until you get the one you want it might take a few tries but you will get it.
