Yeah it's possible to beat him without the KOTR you don't need them at all just make sure you have your party well equiped and on a relatively high lvl above lvl 60 at least, it also depends on your materia pairs here are some useful ones for any battle. Pair revive mastered with final attack mastered that way as soon as you get ko'd the character with this materia pair will revive themselves straight away and another good pair is 4 cut with counter. For the chocobo you use the same two chocobos used for the blue for the green aswell to help you raise the 2 chocobos you are mating stats using greens the best would be Sylkis greens which you can get from chocobo sage's you will find his house on the northern continent surrounded by mountains you will need the airship to get there, also race them in Gold Saucer to raise their rank and just keep trying to get the green one, also keep in mind you will need to have the green one a certain gender depending on what gender the the blue one is since you need to mate them for the black chocobo. Once you get the black raise it's stats by feeding it greens and racing it then get a wonderful chocobo from the tracks near Icicle Inn and mate them using the Zeio nut stolen from the goblins on goblin island west of Midgar. Mate them with the zeio nut and you will get the gold chocobo.

Okay, I'll give you a walkthrough for Bizarro Sephiroth and Safer Sephiroth, been a long time since I answered any questions or played this game, so bare with me if anythings wrong.

Bizarro Sephiroth

Bizarro Sephiroth has multiple parts, and each of them must be destroyed. The problem is that each part can be revived by the others, so you should stick to using multiple-target spells and summons (avoid using any fire-based spells, as two parts absorb this element. This means that you can use Trine or Aqualung, but not Magic Breath). You can also choose to go at various parts with single target spells, but with the risk of seeing your efforts go to waste if this body part is revived afterwards.
Two of the parts of Bizarro Sephiroth are invicible: the main body and the core. What’s worse is that the core uses the Bizarro Energy move, that heals itself for 6000 HP. However, when you managed to kill the other vulnerable parts, you’ll get a message stating that the core is weakened, meaning that it’s susceptible to attacks. Kill it, then kill the main body to finish the battle.
If you have two parties, you can prevent Bizarro Sephiroth from using the Bizarro Energy. Just switch to the other team after you killed one body part: when facing this team, Bizarro Sephiroth will not use the Bizarro Energy. You will, however, need to change teams again to deliver the final blow to the main body.


Safer Sephiroth

Safer Sephiroth uses a great number of attacks, each with grevious effects. He can lower your HP down to 1 using Heartless Angel, inflict great damage with various attacks, or use his most impressive spell, Super Nova (not only is it powerful, but it also inflicts status ailments. And it’s so beautiful that you’re not even mad at him for using it against you). Starting off the battle with Big Guard and Regen will greatly help you in resisting Sephiroth’s wrath.
Safer Sephiroth will also respond to each spell cast on him by casting Wall in return, so make each magic attack worth it, and use the Destruct materia to your advantage by bringing it down in between spells. Sephiroth can also cast Dispell on himself to negate any bad status you could inflict on him, so don’t bother with that.
This is your last battle, so do not hesitate in terms of means: use your Megalixirs after a Heartless Angel attack, and use your most powerful Limits everytime you can. He’s not the toughest boss ever, but he can kill you if you’re not careful.
