Okay, so I'm starting up The Sims 2, (I have 3 expansions: Open for business, Bon voyage, and Pets) I make my family, and while I'm looking for a good house the Sims music stops playing and the screen goes completely black. This has happened several times, and each and everytime it does I'm forced to restart my computer. I even reinstalled the games, yet this problem still occurs. I have downloaded quite a bit of custom content and everytime I'm about to go in the neighborhood the game asks me if I want to disable it. Could my custom content be the reason for the blackout? And if not, what is the problem?

Yes, it is a possibility that your custom content is it. Although when it asks you to disable it, you should click yes to check. If your forced to restart, and can't tab out or Control + Alt + Delete out then it could very well be your Computers video card, unless you play fine on other games. My suggestion is to try without modifications, if that's not it then try other games, if they fail then get your computer checked.
