You make them. First of all, pause the game then cancel all of the persons things he/she is doing right now. Then make them do what you want them to do. If they refuse, then you continue the process.

They might just be in a bad mood. If they are click on the school bus/ride and click "go to work/school". Call the Mechanic on the phone. He's under services.

If they wont go to work it could be a glitch. I had it happen once in strangetown. In the end I had to move house and then they all went to work and school again. Problem solved.
For the computer breaking down ring a mechanic, he will fix anything that breaks, or your sim could also have a go.
The censor grid cheat wont work because that cheat was removed.

I had the same problem. They all got fired so I had to move them into a new house. Try moving. If your computer keeps breaking call a mechanic or buy a new one. The cesor grid cheat got removed. Hope this helps.

That happens to me all the time, and I still cannot figure out completly why my sims wont go to work or school, so I can't help you on that one. But if your sims computer keeps on breaking, it may be because you used the boolprop testingcheatsenabled(true) cheat. But to fix it if you havent used the cheat, just delete the computer in buy mode, and get a new one, or hire a repair man.
And as for the grid size cheat, that cheat has never worked, and as I can see from reading the other answers, it was removed :)

Answer to question 2: call in the repairman using service on the phone, he will fix it for you, if it still keeps breaking buy the best quility computer you can get, as they don't break as much hope this helps.
