How do you beat Bongo-Bongo in the Shadow Temple?
 
 I keep running out of arrows and bottled fairies & never could figure out how to get extra bottles, even though there's a couple hints on that, but it doesn't work for me.
 
 I have just the Nintendo 64. I know I have to stun the eye with an arrow, but those darn hands keep killing me, so I'm afraid to get too close to the eye.

ANSWERS

First get as many bottles as you can.

You probably already have the one that the letter was in, there is one that you can get from the ranch playing Talon's cucco game for the first time, one that you can get if you collect 10 big poes and bring them to the creepy one-eyed guy in the market, and one that you get from collecting all the chickens for the girl in Kakariko Village as a kid.

Fill them all with faires. You know you have to stun the hands with arrows and do this quickly. Then turn on the lens of truth and hit the eye with an arrow, then go smash the eye with your sword.

I'm not 100% sure this is right but I'm going to see if it is right now.

Make sure you have a full magic bar (double-sized of course, normal sized isn't enough) and a full stock of arrows. Don't forget the Lens of Truth.
When Bongo Bongo appears run to the edge of the drum, it's far easier on the edge of the drum. Shoot both his hands with arrows and you should be able to lock onto Bongo Bongo's eye which you must shoot with an arrow. Once you have done that go over and slash the eye as many times as possible. Remember that you need the Lens of Truth to see the eye, without it you can only see it's hands. A bottled fairy or two might come in handy if this is your first time. Well, good luck.
