I just want to know how to get the dang boomerang I have gotten to the big scorpion thing and can't beat him cause I don't have the boomerang.

Scorpion thing... Gohma? Dragon Roost Cavern? You don't need the Boomerang. Use the Grappling Hook on Valoo's tail, which is poking through from the ceiling. After hooking it three times, Gohma's shell will break. Hook it's eye and stab it a few times. Repeat.

You don't get the boomerang untill the next temple. To beat GOHMA (the scorpian thing) take your grapling hook and latch onto the dragons tail at the top of the room hanging from the ceiling. Then swing and keep swinging on it until the roof falls. Then jump off when he hits the ground and hit his eye, then repeat.

If you're talking about the giant sand thingy in the wind temple, you use the hook shot to grab the tongue and slice it up (Be sure you get close enough to grab it.). OR if you're talking about the lava thingy in dragon roost cavern, use the grappling hook to grab the tail hanging from the ceiling and swing across to the other side (It doesn't matter where you land, as long it isn't lava.). Hope this helps.
