Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness Questions

I can't get past this man who you duel after gorigan at citadark isle.I trie to reinforce my Pokemon but at mtbattle the level goes up vvveeeeeeryyyyy slowly.these Pokemon are:Flareon(lv.57),evolition of Nuzleaf(Lv.53),Arbok(lv.42),Shadow snorlax(lv.43),Shadow electabuzz(lv.43)Arcanine (lv. 42).
<BR>I'm trying to purify Snorlax because his hp is 200.But the scents are too expensive.I'd like to know the weakness of Salamence because since it has wings I thought I could use Flamethrower. I'm trying to catch more Pokemon but the ones that I've caught a really weak (lv. 10,15,20) Is there a possibility that I could evolve my Flareon into another Pokemon like the man at Gateon port? (Espeon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, etc.)

1.Okay do you have any ice pokemon? That will help to beat salamence.

You need a Pokemon that is fast and has an ice move that can hit salemence(ice beam) but trust me slemence is a good pokemon and if you can you should catch it.

You should have deafeated him with the high level Pokemon you have and train the last 4.Put Snorlax in the purification chamber. Salamence's weakness are Dragon, Rock, and Ice. Fire, grass, steel, electric are things not effective on Salamence. No more evolution for when Eevee evovled already.

1.If you have an Ice Pokemon, it's helpful for snagging Salamence.
2.Once Eevee evolves into Flareon, Flareon will be Flareon forever.

Try something new.....for instance.... May I suggest teaching your Pokemon, moves heaven knows they wouldn't learn on their own? For instance, though to me, these are pretty useless, your arcanine should, or will be getting soon, Extremespeed. KEEP IT! KEEP IT! KEEP IT! That move can be a blessing in disguise. Now, as for that salamence, in my opinion, they are the best dragon-type around. But, like all dragons, it has a weakness to ice. But here's a bonus: it has a resistance to electricity, which may also be a blessing to you.
