How to Defeat a Fortress in Wizards Unite

Fortresses are similar to the gym system found in Pokemon Go. They are giant towers that are scattered throughout the world in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite that have been specifically built for Wizarding Challenges which will reward you with useful items and a decent amount of XP if you successfully complete them. This How to Defeat a Fortresses guide will help you prepare for them.

Preparation

The enemies within fortresses will often have advantages or disadvantages over a particular profession so it is advised if possible that you tackle them as part of a group so a situational weakness can be compensated for. If however you find yourself in a rural area without other players you can still take them on alone, it just requires a bit more preparation in advance. Before taking on a fortress you need to ensure you take at least 3-5 health potions with you as these will ensure that if you enounter an enemy that is far more powerful than you, you'll be able to healy yourself instead of getting knocked out. Once you reach the higher level Forturess chambers it is advised that you brew a Strong health potion and have a few Invigoration Draughts so you can boost your focus for casting preliminary skills.

Spell Energy

Having enough Spell Engergy is essential, idealy you want 15-30 Spell Energ per-challange so you are able to deal with whatever the fortress can through at you. If you are running low on Spell Engery you may want to consider hitting a few inns on your way to the fortress. There is normally an inn or two near a fortress and eating a turkey dinner at one of them is the best way to refill your spell energy. The higher the chamber you plan on tackling the more Spell Energy you will need in order to deal with the multiple powerful enemies you will encounter there.

Profession Spells

When you chose a profession in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite you unlocked special spells that have their own skill tree which offers a variety of different boosts. Make sure you take advantage of these attributes by ugpgrading your profession spells whenever possible. This includes upgrading your Protego power so it is more effective at defending from attacks and boosting your critical power. Profession spells require focus which the game gives you a small amount to begin with. The lower chamber levels can be won by just using regular combat spells but if you are planning on taking on the level 4 or higher chambers you will need more focus than you were initially given and the only way you can attain it is by upgrading your abilities via the the profession skill tree. To use a profession spell against an enemy you just need to drag your spell from your profession skills container to the enemy you are going to battle before the battle starts.

The Fortress

When you enter the fortress itself you will be given a series of Wizarding Challenges. Each challenge requires that you complete the previous chamber. The first 6 chambers are unlocked upon entering a fortress, but you will need to enter them in order, subsequnent chambers will require a specific level to enter. Up to 5 people can tackle one chamber at a time. Each of the challenges requires a runestone which can be found throughout the course of the game. Runestones determine how difficult a challenge will be as well as what items and amount of XP you will recieve as a reward if you are successful.
