Sniper Elite 5 Invasion Mode

Invasion mode in Sniper Elite 5 is a PvP feature where another player joins your game and plays as a Nazi sniper whose is tasked with hunting you down and stopping you from completing your mission objectives. The rewards you receive in this multiplayer for winning are great, but you need to keep in mind that it will be harder than playing against a CPU since you will more than likely be going up against highly skilled players. Take a look at our Invasion Mode Guide to find out everything you need to know about this feature in Sniper Elite 5.

How to Start Invasion Mode

Invasion Mode in Sniper Elite 5 is started by going to 'Play' in the Main Menu. From there you will see the option for 'Axis Invasion'. Once you click on it, you will be given the option to start an 'Invasion' search which will pair you against another player. Unfortunately there is no way you can invade your friends unless it is by pure happenstance. The matchmaking once 'Axis Invasion' has started is random. Invasion Mode can be turned off from the lobby before you start the campaign if you want to prevent players joining your game.

Unique Skills

Allied Sniper

When you play Invasion Mode both players will have access to some unique skills. If you play the Allied sniper there will be invasion pones scattered around the map which you can use to discover the last known location of your opponent. Keep in mind that these phones can be booby-trapped by the Axis sniper to cause you damage and using them too often will raise suspicions and reveal your location.

Axis Sniper

The Axis sniper who invades your game can use the AI Axis forces to help locate you. When they tag an Axis soldier it will enable 'Eagle Eyes' which means if that soldier spots you your last known location will be displayed on the map. The Axis sniper is also able to instruct nearby soldiers to 'Stay Sharp' which increases the awareness of that soldier. Listed below are all 9 of the abilities that the Axis sniper has in Invasion mode.

Stay Sharp:

Hold Left Alt (or corresponding button) to encourage nearby Axis soldiers to pay close attention.

Eagle Eyes:

Tagged Axis soldiers will report the Enemy Sniper’s Last Known Position on your radar and map.

Wire Trapper:

Plant booby traps on Invasion Phones. These will detonate when the Allied Sniper tries to use the phone.

Grenade Throwback:

Tape E to quickly throw a live grenade.

Health Boost 1:

Add an extra health segment.

Back In The Fight:

A Med Kit can be used to revive yourself when incapacitated.

Stabilized:

Heart Rate is reduced when using a Bandage or Med Kit.

Triangulation:

Enemies are scope tagged when they damage you.

Sixth Sense:

Receive a notification when you're tagged.
