How to Unlock the Model D

Pistols in Sniper Elite 5 are a sidearm that can be extremely effective for quick stealthy melee attacks, especially when a suppressor has been equipped to it. There are six different pistols available in the game, the best of which is the Model D. This How to Unlock the Model D guide will tell you how you can acquire this pistol by completing the kill challenge in Mission 6: Liberation which is to kill Jaan Trautmann with poison.

Jaan Trautmann is a high ranking Nazi Major who is holed up in the master bedroom of a heavily guarded villa on the Eastern side of the map. The poison that you need to use can be found on the ground floor of the building in bottles. Once you have acquired one of the two bottles you need to make your way up to the second floor. When you reach the outside of the targets' room there is a bell and a glass of water on a table which you can interact with to poison the liquid. Trautmann is paranoid and only leaves his room to collect his food and drink so when you ring the bell next to the door he will come out from inside the room thinking his drink is ready. It is important that the target doesn't see you so find a hiding spot (hang from the balcony's windowsill) and wait for Trautmann to come out and take a big sip of the drink and die. Successfully killing your target in this manner will unlock the Model D pistol which is a great choice if you are looking for a pistol with high damage. The downside to this weapon is it is very loud with an audible range of about 70 m.
