How to Unlock Weapons in Sniper Elite 5

There are 18 different weapons in Sniper Elite 5 which you can equip. These are split into primary weapons (sniper rifles), secondary weapons, and pistols. This How to Unlock Weapons guide lists all the weapons and the requirement that needs to be met to acquire each of them.



Primary Weapon (Sniper Rifle)


The primary weapon in Sniper Elite 5 is the main weapon you will use during the campaign and will be used to kill the majority of the enemies you encounter. Most of these weapons are long-range sniper rifles.

M.1903


Received at the start of the game.

Pros
- Great at very long range
- Minimal bullet drop

Cons
- Slow firing



SREM-1


Received at the start of the game.

Pros
- Great all-rounder
- Minimal bullet drop

Cons
- Relatively slow rate of fire



Gewehr 1943


Unlocked after completing Mission 3.

Pros
- Rapid fire

Cons
- Poor aim stability
- Long time to aim





Karabiner 98

M1A Carbine


Unlocked after completing Mission 5.

Pros
- Easy to control
- Rapid fire

Cons
- Weak damage
- Poor at long range



RSC 1918


Unlocked after completing Mission 7.

Pros
- Deadly at close range
- Rapid fire

Cons
- Long time to aim
- Extreme bullet drop





Secondary Weapons


The secondary weapons in Sniper Elite 5 are used when you engage in close quarter combat or are caught off guard by a patrolling enemy. These weapons are made up of SMGs and rifles.

M1A1 GOV


- Unlocked at the start of the game.

- Powerful and versatile

- Limited iron sight visibility
- Poor at long range



Welgun SMG


Unlocked at the start of the game.

Pros
- Great iron sight visibility
- Quick aiming time

Cons
- Slow automatic fire


Stengun MK2


- Unlocked after completing Mission 6.

Pros
- Quiet SMG
- Great customisation options

Cons
- Weak damage





Machine PIST.40


Unlocked after completing Mission 1's kill challenge.

Pros
- Easy to control

Cons
- Low power



Machine PIST.44


Unlocked after completing Mission 4's kill challenge.

Pros
Minimal bullet drop
Great for ranged shots

Cons
Difficult to control



Type 100

Pistols


In Sniper Elite 5 pistols are your last resort in open combat. They can be used effectively when approaching enemies from stealth. A silenced pistol is a deadly weapon that can be used to help clear levels without dealing with too much resistance.

- Difficult to control



Welrod


Unlocked at the beginning of the game.

Pros
- Very quiet gunshots

Cons
- Very slow bolt action


MK VI Revolver


Unlocked after completing Mission 2.

Pros
- Extremely high damage

- Very loud





Pistol 08


Unlocked after completing Mission 3 (Eliminate a target using a stealth takedown).

Pros
- Low bullet drop
- Great for ranged shots

Cons
- Long time to aim



Model D

Type 14 Nambu


Unlocked after completing Mission 8 (Eliminate a target with either a 14 Nambu or Type 100).
