How to Unlock the Kar98

Where to Find Friedrich Kummler

Friedrich Kummler is an optional kill challenge you can complete during Mission 2: Occupied Residence where the objective is to kill the German Nazi officer Friedrich Kummler by crushing him with a chandelier in order to unlock the Kar98 bonus weapon as a reward. Friedrich Kummler can be found in the Ballroom in the Chateau Estate in the northern part of the map. Make your on the eastern road through the small river and forest until you reach the Chateau Stables where you will find Classified Documents and a Pistol Workbench. When you enter the Chateau through the door on the northeastern side, which is the entrance to the Ballroom you will find your target. In order to get to this position you will need a silenced weapon, and you can use your binoculars and Focus Skill to determine the whereabouts of the soldiers, and know which ones you can take out without raising the alarm.

How to Crush Friedrich Kummler

Now that you have found your target you need to find the ideal sniping position to complete your objective. Use the wooden fencing to avoid being spotted and use your binoculars to identify which of the German Nazi officers is Friedrich Kummler. Once the target has finished his conversation with the other Nazi officers he will move to the center of the Ballroom and stand underneath the big, heavy chandelier hanging at the top of the ceiling. When Kummler gets close to the table in the middle of the room you need to take out your sniper rifle and scope at the chain holding the chandelier, hold your breath, and shoot. It is important that you hold your breath as doing so will mark the chain holding up the chandelier red and help you aim correctly at the correct spot. If your shot is good the chandelier will drop on top of Kummler, killing him.

If you are having trouble getting Kummler to stand below the chandelier you can complete the challenge another way. The alternate way is to kill everyone in the room except Kummler, and then knock him unconscious. You then forcibly place him under the chandelier, break the chain, and finish him that way.
