Maintaining your crops, trees, and animals makes up quite a huge chunk of the experience in the game. Once players have already exhausted all such means – or maybe they have already maximized all that they need to do in a day, then they may spend their remaining energy by going to the mines and extracting a few gems and ores along the area.

Just lke the Axe you use in cutting down trees, you will have to get your very own Hammer, which you may claim from Brutus. In the beginning, you will be devoid of any Mining tool. But with the help of a kind friend, ywill get to acquire your first Mining Tool. Once you have your Mining Tool with you, you may begin going around town and hammering through the ores you find lying on the ground.

To do this, you will have to activate the Farm mode first and then tap on the ore that you’d want to break open. Unlike previous versions, you will have to pound on the ore several times in order to claim the ore–and the only time when you won’t have to use the hammer several times is if you’ve already upgraded the hammer. In this version, however, players won’t have to deal with that anymore as getting the ore will only require the player to hack on it once.

Aside from the ores around Chestnut Town (especially the ones in the forest), players may also enter the town’s mine, which is located in Chestnut Town’s forest. Once you enter the mine, you will be greeted by a narrow room wherein you may use your hoe anywhere in the room to find ores randomly placed in the area. Aside from that, you may also try your luck at finding the ladder that will lead you deeper into the mine. Going deeper into the mine will provide you with far better ores and even a bigger area to work on.

Tip: Although time stops when inside a mine, the use of Tools (Hammer and Hoe) will still consume Stamina. Therefore it is advised to have full Stamina before going into the mine or perhaps bring along some food (which you cooked or bought) that can restore your Stamina while working in the mines. Another thing you could also do is bring with you a Sleeping Bag so you can “sleep” to regain the lost Stamina.
