Controls and Other Important Buttons

Fans of the Harvest Moon franchise were always used to be able to deliver quick changes to the Tools in their arsenal by a simple press of a button. But now that this game is delivered through the mobile device platform, the absence of physical buttons is replaced by on-screen buttons neatly arranged on the screen–don’t worry, you won’t be dealing with tons of buttons screaming at your face.

Farm/Talk Button

This is one of the most important buttons that you will be using in the game. It’s basic function provides players the chance to talk with other people–and in a sense, build new connections. Forming new bonds is important as getting to know people can reap a few rewards such as getting free items and of course, falling in love. Befriending and talking to people can help you find a partner you could eventually marry later on in the game.

Meanwhile the Farm button is a button that is selected when you will have to perform any task related to farming (ex. Tilling the land, planting the seeds, watering the plants, and harvesting the crops). This button is also used for picking up items you could find in the forest or perhaps ores that are neatly scattered around the mines too. The farm button is also used to fish and to pick up or handle items that you’d want to give away as gifts to a particular person.

Gear Icon

The next most important on-screen button in the game is the gear-like button located at the upper right corner. The reason that this is important is because this button reveals several important things in the game:

- -Memories: this is a collection of all the 150 memories you will have to restore in Chestnut Town. This list, however, does not show the rewards that is available when you successfully restore a memory.

- -Rucksack: this bag serves one of the most important items in the game as it houses everything and anything you own–from your Tools, your seeds and even to ores and gifts to give away.

- -Save: this saves your current state/location in the game. Aside from saving your progress, you may also use this button to load the save file you want to use.

- -Encyclopedia: this button shows all the important tips and information that can help you along the way. In this button, you are given information on the Festivals, calendar, etc.

Date and Weather Indicator

When maintaining a farm, being knowledgeable of the weather and the date is important. The weather helps dictate the kind of activities that you will do during the day (if it rains, you may skip watering the plants. If there is a scheduled storm, you will have to harvest your crops immediately, etc.).

For the date, checking it out is important so you may be aware of a festival or someone’s birthday. The date is also helpful when fixing your schedule to buy supplies as stores and shops have different schedules of operation.
