Cows

Aside from the Chickens, the Cows are one of the staple farm animals in every Harvest Moon game. Having a Cow will provide you one of the most useful resource in the game – milk.

To obtain a Cow, you will have to proceed to Hunter’s Shop and pay him 10,000G for one Cow. After that, you may visit your Cow in your barn.

Though you may have purchased a Cow already, do not expect your Cow to churn out Milk on the same day. The Cows that are sold at Hunter’s are still young and not capable of producing Milk. So, once you have bought a Cow, you will have to wait around 16 days for your new cow to grow into an Adult Cow.

After 16 days and with an Adult Cow, you may collect the Milk your Cow will produce every day.

Tip: Cows will only capable of producing milk if they are well and happy. So be sure to give the proper care at all times.

You may nurture your Cow by brushing it every day and making sure that it has enough food. The happier the cow, the better the quality of Milk it will produce.

Tip: You may allow your Cow to graze on your field of grass during a Sunny day. But just make sure that you don’t forget to bring them back inside the Barn before going to bed or when it rains. Keeping them out in the rain or overnight will damage your relationship with your animal.

If you are willing to take care of more cows, you won’t have to buy another one. All you have to do is have a Pregnant Cow. To do that, you will have to buy a Cow Miracle Potion from Hunter (8,000G) and use it on your Cow. Once that is done, you will have to wait for six days for your Cow to give birth.

Note: Pregnant Cows won’t be able to produce Milk so be sure to plan things properly (especially if you are regularly cooking up a meal with Milk as its main ingredient or perhaps you are due to give Milk as a gift to someone).
