Toughest Battles In Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon

Melemele Island Grand Trial

If you asked any player that had the opportunity to play Pokemon Sun & Moon, it wouldn’t be too shocking to hear most of them say that their very first Grand Trial back on Melemele Island with Kahuna Hala was the most difficult of the four. Nothing against Kahuna Olivia, Kahuna Nanu, and Kahuna Hapu, but by the time you faced each of them, your Pokemon’s Leveling should’ve been high enough to withstand any hurdle they tried to throw in front of you. But Kahuna Hala was an entire different story, as you do face him so very early within your journey. It wouldn’t even be too surprising to hear if some trainers hadn’t even evolved their Starter Pokemon by the time they had made it around Melemele Island and had to face off with Kahuna Hala.

In Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the same exact difficulties persist where your Grand Trial with Kahuna Hala is concerned. For one, the battle takes place still relatively early in your journey. More likely than not, this means your Pokemon won’t have that great of an advantage in terms of leveling over Kahuna Hala’s Pokemon. On top of this, Hala continues to use some of the stronger Pre-Evolution Fighting Type Pokemon in Machop, Makuhita and Crabrawler. These Pokemon might not be evolved, but they still pack quite the punch against your lower-leveled Pokemon. Add that to the fact that Crabrawler can use a Z Move AND knows the move Power Up Punch to further boost its already high Attack Stat (for such a little Pokemon), and you have a stressful Grand Trial waiting for you. Be smart: have plenty of Healing Items on hand for this battle, and ALWAYS make sure to unleash your Normal Type Z Move against Crabrawler to give you some sort of chance against it.
