Top Ten Greatest Competitive Kalos Pokemon

#3 - Klefki

Now Klefki might not look like much, but much like Ferrothorn, it packs quite the defensive punch. With its Prankster ability, Klefki is one of the best setters in all of the competitive world. It can set up double screens to help out the rest of your team or especially in Doubles, and it can even cripple other teams with a status condition. It really isn't an offensive power, one of the main reasons it couldn't rank any higher, but it still has its place in the competitive world. It is now found in the Over-Used Tier of the Competitive World of Pokemon, really the highest level of greatness in players eyes. Not so bad for a little set of keys.

As for how to run Klefki, it really is used in really only one of two ways: as a spike Setter or Dual Screen Setter. Either way, go with a Calm Nature and stack it up with maximum Effort Values in Hit Points and Special Defense, with the remaining in Defense. Go with the Leftovers as a Spike Setter, Light Clay for the Dual Screens.

If you go with the Spike Setting Klefki, go with Spikes, ThunderWave, Magic Rise, and Toxic OR Play Rough. Spikes cripple the opposing team if they don't have a Rapid Spinner, and Thunder Wave disables them even more. Magic Rise avoids damaging Ground Type Attacks, while Toxic pairs oppositely with Thunder Wave but Play Rough can be affected for Taunt Users on other teams.

If you run the Dual Screens Klefki, obviously you'll be using both Reflect and Light Screen. Fairlock traps fleeing Pokemon, and Four Play and Play Rough is in case of a Taunt (like the previous set).

Whatever way you use Klefki, it is sure to be effective with the rest of your team, especially in Doubles or Triples.
