Top Ten Kalos Pokemon That Should Have A Mega Evolution

#7 - Talonflame

Talonflame is another Pokemon that is already superior by itself, being in a very similar boat to Aegislash. It has already caused enough carnage in its short time of existence in the World of Pokemon, mainly due to its incredible ability of Gale Wings. Gale Wings takes Talonflame, and would for any Flying Type, from the lower tiers of mediocrity to an overpowered sensation. Add this to Talonflame's vast movepool that includes BOTH Flare Blitz and Brave Bird, not to forget Sword Dance, and you have an instant sweeper that can rip through anything but a Ground / Rock Type.

So no, Talonflame doesn't technically need a Mega Evolution. However, with the creation of Mega Pidgeot, many believe the main Bird Pokemon that are found early in a Generation (Staraptor, Pidgeot, Talonflame, Swellow, and Unfezant) will all be getting one too. And if that turns out to be true, Talonflame could easily ascend past the Over-Used Tier straight into becoming an Uber.

Mega Talonflame, as we see things, would most likely remain close to the vest of the original structure of Talonflame in place. There is no need to change its ability, nor its typing that already has superior coverage - why would you get rid of something so fantastic? But with its stats, we see it actually getting more bulk to its defensives, with a smaller boost to its Attack Stat. Gale Wings already makes Talonflame an offensive powerhouse with Swords Dance, so why not give it more defensive capabilities especially with how common Stealth Rock in today's world of Pokemon. It really doesn't need anymore speed, again because of Gale Wings, but that's not to say it would receive all the more. Pidgeot already had decent speed, but it gained a huge boost after receiving a Mega Evolution, so it wouldn't surprise us if the same happened with Talonflame (especially since the creators could always kept its poor defenses to remain its weakness).
