Does anyone know if you can purchase Daedra Hearts anywhere in the game, rather than just waiting for a chance encounter with a Daedric opponent? If so, where? I'm trying to build some armor and weapons.

I don't know where you could purchase them (other than apothecaries perhaps), but sometimes necromancers have them. They're a lot easier to find than Daedra. You could also try to learn a Summon Daedra spell, but I'm not sure if you can search the bodies of summoned things.

You can buy Daedra Hearts every 2 Skyrim days in the College of Winterhold from a student by the name of Enthir. You'll usually find him in his room on the second floor in the Hall of Attainment. NOTE...Be sure to have bought something from him in the past or there's a small chance he won't do business with you. Hope this helps.

Try some of the daedric shrines. If you complete their quests or anger them there is a good chance of running into daedra.

Mehrunes Dagons Shrine is good place to get daedra hearts the daedra reappear after a few days and they keep reappearing so there is a good source there

Yeah apothecary shops do sell them occasionally, you can buy them from the College of Winterhold every few days or steal some from the Archmage, often can be bought in Orc strongholds, necromancers or places with necromancers are good places to look.

Also you can farm deadra from Mehrunes Dagon's Shrine, after completing a quest you gain access to his shrine (inside) where every few days there are 2 deadra inside. Must be level 20 to initiate the quest and have done atleast 1 Deadric quest prior.

YOU CAN'T BUY THEM ANYWHERE BUT GO TO shrine of azura and do the quest to get her star and in side the star you will find at least three deadra.
