When I am on the ledge after jumping to get away from spikes, I can not jump on vines to get the necklace.. I fall everytime. Can someone help?

Hi, Walk to the edge facing the necklace, press X pause X, Really I thought there you could just hit XX and make it, If you make a small pause in between your jumps you should make it, If for some reason you don't make it, you may have a glitch there, and need to start a new game.
