How do I get through the flooded passage R1 seems to slow to beat the moving..

You DO have to use R1. You have to drop down and immediately start charging. Don't release it until it is fully charged. Once you release it, keep going to the left (or whatever way the barriers go, I think they go left). There should be a cut-out section on the floor of the passage very near. Try to make it to this hole and go down in it. Get to the left side of the hole and wait. Carfully watch the moving barriers. You will need to quickly get out of the hole and use R1 (fully charged). You will need to make it to the next cut-out section of the passage. Just continue doing this until you reach the end. It worked for me.

P.S. You should only use R1 ONCE in between each hole. After releasing R1, swim regularly until you can get down into a hole.

Some more tips:

I would slowly sink to hole one let the 1st gate pass over me and pop right back up. That seemed to be key. As soon as I saw the 1st gate, I'd chase it, duck in the hole VERY briefly and pop right back out, not wait.

Then, I'd charge up and shoot as far as I could, then do a couple little charges and sink into second hole.. From there it's easy.

If anyone happens to come across this, they are right. R1 does work. It took me probably 75x to get it honestly. Also, I couldn't get there with only one R1 dash. I used a hint from another forum in addition, that said not to wait until you slow down completely to hit R1 again, and after 1-2 tries I made it.

Just don't panic if you see the wall; if you do it right it will nudge you at the most but not get you killed. There's a save point soon afterwards too! Good luck!
