How to Farm Azoth

Azoth in New World is a supernatural mineral which has magical properties that serves as a form of currency in the game. It can be used while crafting to increase the power of any bonuses that might appear on the crafted item, to respec the Mastery Tree of a weapon, or to fast travel to certain areas you have previously visited and resurrect the dead. This How to Farm Azoth guide will tell you everything you need to know about the currency.

The easiest and quickest way in which you can farm Azoth in New World is by playing through the main storyline. The first time you will be rewarded with Azoth will be when you complete the quest titled 'Commitment to the Cause'. This is a simple quest that will become available after a couple of hours into the game and tasks you with getting some faction reputation. After completing this quest, you will earn Azoth regularly as a quest reward. As soon as you complete the main quest you need to get a tool with the Azoth Extraction perk as this will provide you with a slow, constant source of Azoth.

Azoth Extraction is a perk that scales with Gear Score, it is applied to your tool by using a drop of Azoth oil while crafting and will give the tool a 30% chance to get Azoth every time you use it. For example, you would have a 30% chance to get 1 Azoth every time you chop down a tree with an Azoth Extraction Axe. Unfortunately there is no guaranteed way in which you can obtain a tool with Azoth Extraction. The only ways to get Azoth is as a reward for completing quests or as a drop by fighting high-level enemies (Level 20 or above). You will need to hope you are lucky when you craft the tool. The more Azoth that is added to the recipe, the higher the likelihood it will get powerful perks, gem slots or attribute bonuses.

Note: In New World, you can spend 25 Azoth to respec weapon mastery points. If your weapon is below Level 10 you will be able to do this for free. It is therefore recommended that to save your Azoth you make any weapon mastery changes before you reach Level 10 with a specific weapon.
