The Golden Trout is the rarest fish in Hay Day, and as a result many players have spent a lot of time and effort trying to locate it. Generally, the key to doing it is perseverance, as well as making sure you have opened up the vast majority of the extra areas available so that you can fish in the areas the Golden Trout prefers.
The best place to catch the Golden Trout is by the waterfall using a Golden lure. This is where most people seem to have caught it and gives the best results. You will need to use a Golden Lure to catch it, but bear in mind that you can easily snag a Greater Redhorse or a Rudd by mistake, which will still cost you your Golden Lure and waste the voucher.
Use the smallest circle to fish by the waterfall with a Golden Lure and watch for the movement of the fish. If it moves quickly (more quickly than any other fish in the game), and fights hard, you will know that it is likely to be a Golden Trout. If it seems sluggish and easier than you would expect, you are safer letting it go rather than risking losing the Lure.
