A friend told me that in the safari room the was suposed to be a gallery ghost in there in the beta version. Is this true or not?

Yes that is true but it was removed because it was too scary. It was suppose to be an genetic Australian hunter he had a rifle to shoot you with and his dialogue was suppose to be on the lines of he wanted to kill you and mount your head on his wall as a trophy like he did with the animals in that room

True. They removed the boss because it was said to be to scary.

A Possible Reference Is there is a chair in the Safari Room, Scan it and a Message Saying What's This? With a Square with a "?" inside of it. There are many others such as A Puppet in the Clockwork Room, Slim Bankshot or some object in the Billiards Room.

My Theory is that is means there was once a secret in this room, but it was removed. So the one in the Safari Room Might Reference the Hunter.

Yes there was supposed to be an Australian hunter man with a gun in there but he had lines that would scare the crap out of little kids so he was removed he said he wanted to shoot luigi,
Cut his head off, and stick it on a plaque as a trophy if you have the beta version you can actually fight him, but the beta version is really hard to get

No. It isn't real. Here's proof. The rumorï»¿ came from an issue of Nintendo Power in October 2001. It said to be cautious when entering the room if the player was to meet up with the hunter. At the time the issue was released, Luigi's Mansion was already released a month earlier in Japan. They could have been foreshadowing though. So, yeah, the hunter doesn't exist.
