Why did king boo kidnap mario?

I guess King Boo kidnapped Mario to get Luigi to come to that mansion.
King Boo doesn't have many friends, so he wanted a play date with Mario and a Toad named Franklin. It then turned into a hostage situation. Franklin was killed when he tried to escape through the plumbing.
The motives were not explained in the game, so no one (other than the game creators) knows.
King Boo kidnapped Mario because, and I know this cause I just read it, he caused so much trouble for him in the past. So if he was a painting it would feel so great for him. But he knew Luigi would try to rescue him so he made a plan to put Mario in the painting and then Luigi later. Or the other way around if Luigi came first but the game doesn't do that since it is Luigi's Mansion. Luigi being the key word.
Why King Boo kidnapped Mario is actually part of a theory. You see, King Boo kidnapped Mario because he wanted to get revenge on him 'cause he disrupted boo houses in Super Mario World. There was one possible way for this not to happen is to team up with all the boo houses in Paper Mario 64 (I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.) But Mario HAD to team up with the Boos that live in the Boo Houses. Then, King Boo kidnapped Mario in Luigi's Mansion 1 & 2. Anyway, that's why King Boo kidnapped Mario.
Hmm I think it was a accedent ish see he hates mario he wanted to catche luigi in a paintin but mario (thinking luigi is incompetent) came first to see if anything is out of the ordinary let down his gaurd and WHAM king boo captured mario and then luigi came and you know fought ghosts then king boo then freed mario
