Takakura has disappeared without a trace. I'm in chapter 2 day 9 of summer and he hasn't been around since the 6th, I have so many eggs, cheese, butter and milk that needs to be shipped, and I'm running out of good fodder and trying to sell a duck. Does anyone know if this is a glitch? Will I have to end my game and start over or is there another way to fix it? Or is this just part of the story where Takakura ups and leaves without telling you for some kind of vacation? If anyone can help, please, I haven't been able to find ANY information on this problem yet.

Yes, I'm putting everything in the correct bins...I don't think you were understanding when I said he was GONE. Gone, like you never see him walking around town, or on the farm or to and from Mineral Town, never in his house-that type of gone.
But after a while I figured I could get by for a while duplicating the ruby spice for cash, until it became absolutly neccesary to end it and start from scratch. Winter day 1 he re-appeared. So I'm assuming it was a glitch that fixed itself at the turn of the season. But thank you for your attention to the matter
